somedude7 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I've been friends with this girl at work for several months now but I just never had the courage to ask her out on a real date! I've finally decided I'm going to ask her out for dinner - but I'm gonna do it by email. (Sorry folks - its either this or nothing). Can you guys (women especially) share your best tips on writing someone a "wanna grab dinner sometime?" type email? How do I make it funny so if she says NO it doesnt affect our work relationship?? Please help!
heartoutside Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 do an evite......only just for the two of you.
Crestfallen_KH Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 I like the above idea - it's clever. Be prepared for her not to think of this as a "date." If a co-worker asked me out over e-mail, I would automatically assume it was just to hang out as friends.
AdrianaLima Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 You can say: Hey this is_____. I was wondering whether or not you were interested in grabbing a dinner sometime. We can just have a casual dinner to have a fun and delightful time.If you have a busy agenda that's fine. So, let me know if your willing or not. See you at work tomorrow. It doesn't have to be a pondering message. Just keep it simple. You can add smiley faces to the message if you like. Good luck.
bigmanpayne Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 pick something that interest the both of you like... john mayer or something. ask her if she would like to go somewhere and talk more about john mayer since you cant really talk like you want to at wrok. ask her to go to lunch first, that's less of a date and more just hanging out. if the lunch goes OK, then move on to dinner. thats my advice.
