Petahs116 Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Recently, my girlfriend, best friend of 2 years has been away since February, due to a program funded by the state called "Job-Corps". It's an alternative for schooling where kids can get their diploma, take up a trade, etc. Keep in mind, they live there. Most of the people making up the population there, are from Philadelphia. Majority ranging from 17-20. Now, the thing is, my girlfriend and I have been through a few ldr before, all going fairly smooth. It's different this time around. She tells me she doesn't write me and calls me every other day because she doesn't want to miss me, because it hurts too much. Anyways, on her myspace page, she has " A.L.K.Q.N " which stand for almighty latin king queen nation. For more background information, my girlfriend never used to be this type of person. She's always been kind towards me, and treated me well. Since she's been there, her music taste has changed, the way she talks has drastically changed, and she's fancying the colors yellow and black ( the gang colors). I'm not sure if she's actually in the gang, or not. I remember her telling me she was affiliated with people just so she had some sort of protection there, and some people to talk too. After doing research, I find initiations requiring more then just the common "wanna join the latin kings?" kind of thing. It just seems I'm shunned into the dark about things. I don't know what to do, I love this girl, with everything I have, and I'm trying so hard to be tolerant and hope it's just a phase. I'm not sure what I should do next. Will she when she's out of there, for good? When she comes home once a month, she slowly acts more like herself.
