northstar1 Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I've been keeping busy with friends, exercise etc, not just sitting around at home moping about the ex. But despite this, I still have this feeling of loneliness. I'm normally comfortable in my own skin, but lately I just feel restless, lonely etc. Anyone else relate?
critter909 Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Definitely. I never had a problem being alone before, enjoyed it actually. Now, even though I have more activities than I have ever had in my life I feel completly alone. I suppose this passes? Something just seems missing, empty
AdrianaLima Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Well,it's gonna be that way for a little while. Especially if you just got out of the relationship. I was the same way after a break-up with an ex. Just keep yourself busy, as you said. And keep a positive demeanor with yourself. You'll be fine.
roghornio Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Grab a newspaper and go sit in a bar and have a couple beers (im not sure if you guys do that in the states?!). You'd be suprised how many people you meet!
tealeafbud Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 are you sure it's loneliness and not just missing your ex? Because i think there is a difference in the two. If it's missing your ex, it is normal. I've been missing my ex for a while, but never really feel lonely. I think I was just used to someone loving me the way my ex loved me. But I'm certain and I trust that the feelings of missing her will pass.

critter909 Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I know it stems from missing him. I shared my life with him for 10 years, I always had a companion, someone to talk to, it's a big hole to fill. I know it will pass with time but I'm still so in love with him right now that it's making it very hard to "move on"
