mortensorchid Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 In the recent past, I have encountered not one but THREE men who were virgins. Two were in their early twenties, one was nearly thirty and still a virgin. None of them were holding out for religious reasons. One told me at first that he was not having sex until marriage because of pregnancy. (That was lie, insidently, but I will not reveil the truth.) The other two told me that they had had girlfriends in the past. One in fact was with his girlfriend for five years, living together for two, was engaged to be married to her, AND he was still a virgin! What would cause this?!?!? Any thoughts?! 1
xpaperxcutx Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Are they serious? Is it psychological? and contagious?
PandaStillLovesBunny Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Well, aside from the guy who was getting married... What would cause this?!?!? Any thoughts?! Respect? Holding sex in high regard, instead of a frivolous game to be knocked out whenever the pool table isn't available?
Mag Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 When someone finds the answer to this please be sure to let me know
stillafool Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I would say these guys have respect for themselves and don't want to risk AIDS and all the other disgusting diseases that go with sleeping around. I think a "guy virgin" would be a great catch.
jadedone Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Or maybe it was a lie, and they were hoping to get a mercy lay.
JohnnyBlaze Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Respect? Holding sex in high regard, instead of a frivolous game to be knocked out whenever the pool table isn't available? I think you've got that backwards! I haven't known any guys who've walked into a bar with a chick and said "Aw, darn. It's league night; there go my plans! Well, fine. Let's go have sex instead."

Please reveal the "truth" Could help some other members here. Unless she is also a member or somethign, it's not like anyone is going to know who it is?
Stockalone Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 One in fact was with his girlfriend for five years, living together for two, was engaged to be married to her, AND he was still a virgin! Maybe his gf wants to wait until they are married? What would cause this?!?!? Any thoughts?! There can be many reasons why a guy is a virgin in his twenties. The following list is in no particular order. A couple of those things should be enough to keep a guy a virgin until his twenties or longer. He has religious reasonsHe is scared of pregnancy or STD's He turned down every woman that asked him out because he is too pickyHe only goes for woman who are out of his league and never gets a dateHe only wants to have sex in an exclusive relationship with a woman he can see a future withHe has no interest in and/or is opposed to casual sexHe simply never had the opportunityHe is not confident, assertive enough when it comes to womenHe has no social skills, is akward around womenHe is too ugly, fat, etc.He is turned off by the sexual history of potential matesHe doesn't care about sex, all his time is consumed by hobbies or furthering his educationHe is (very) shyHe is a doormat and women don't respect himHe tells the women he dates that he is a virgin and they run for the hills because something must be wrong with himHe is frustrated with his lack of success in dating and has given up
carhill Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 For me it was simple... HIV was in full bloom and everyone (women especially, in my case) seemed to be anxious about this relatively unknown and insidious disease. I wanted to wait until I was in a committed relationship with someone I intended to marry and have children with.
pollywag Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Being a virgin, for a man in his 20's, is not wrong it is just a personal choice. When I was in my 20's I was a dirty strumpet with lose morals and a fast sedan, let me tell you I got around town! I regret it and that is why by the time I was 25 I joined the sisterhood. I wished I hadn't been so eager to sell my petunia but what's done is done. Luckily I have found god and the food ain't so bad back at the convent so it all worked out. A guy that is trying to lead a good moral path is admirable, that or he is in the closet.
