I'm returning to college in the fall. I'm on disability because of injury and that's the money I live on. The dillema is to maintain disability income I can only attend college part-time, to qualify for financial aid I need to register for full time. There is a waiver and I'm going on Thursday to see about obtaining it.

My dillema: I just read on the college's website that for new transfer students, which I am, they have a program that if you qualify for a pell grant, which I do, your tuition is paid 100%, only you have to register for 13 credits. If I register for a full courseload I'm certain to lose my disability benefits, that's the money I live on. I'm not even sure I can keep it with the 10 I've registered for.

Guaranteed I'd lose the money I live on do I register for a full courseload knowing my tuition will be covered 100% and I'd graduate in 2 years. But what would I live on? How would I pay bills and the essessials of college?

My other plan is to take 10 credits per semester and 8 during the summer session. Summer session I found out is loan based only. What's gonna be more expensive in the long run? Anyone savy in financial aid?

If you have any questions go ahead and post I tried to be a through as I could.

Is your injury a permanent injury, or is it a temporary thing? I would strongly suggest that you talk to a counselor at the school because you have a very unique situation. But, just based on what you wrote, I personally would not recommend giving up the money that you get to live on.
