rawkwell Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 So, my boyfriend dumped me about a week and a half ago. I always had suspicions during the relationship that he was cheating on me, but he (of course) always claimed that there was nothing going on. But I had a hunch, but I never found out anything concrete. He broke up with me, but said that he wanted to stay friends. So, I tried it for a bit, but then I realized that I couldn't be around him without being passive-aggressive. So, I've decided to stop being his friend. I deleted him from my facebook, and all other sites. So this morning, I woke up feeling like something was just wrong. We'd gone out on Friday night and he claimed that he hadn't started dating again, but I told him that I was. Long story short, I got into his email this morning and of course, it solidified that he was dating, but not only that, it also showed me how long it had been going on with this one particular girl (over a month now). Now I know I should move on and forget about him, but has anybody ever gotten any real answers from their cheating bf/exes? I just want to know how big a mug I really am.
CarrieT Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Yeah, I broke up with my BF last weekend but we still have to work together so we talked about still being friends. Because we live together, HE suggested that we don't start dating or seeing other people until we move apart from one another. Well, within four days, I got forwarded an e-mail that confirmed the fact that he had already started a relationship with another woman in another country. A wise internet friend expressed it beautifully to me: "Within many a man is a fractured ego and undeniable insecurity that is temporarily overcome or distanced by the pleasure of a woman that pays attention in any form to his needs. As a man, he is wanting, and when a willing provider fills some need, then "good" gets rewarded and "other" gets ignored." Surprisingly, it helped me although I am still hurtin.
