Does anyone else wake up and you’re not thinking about it, or even aware of it, but your brain starts telling you – “HEY! Something important you need to be thinking about “ then woomph it all floods in, and the ignorant post dream calmness is replaced. It’s like a computer booting up lol. Today is a good day though for me, i can feel so close to being through this completely. days, maybe a couple more weeks (especially with NC) and I’ll be out.

Yep. Totally. And sometimes, even when I try and bash the thoughts out of my head, they seem to sometimes overwhelm the floodgates and storm in.

That's funny, it'll be easy for the next girl to outdo my ex: all she'll have to do is be kind and respectful, and she'll be miles ahead of the ex already.

:laugh: I know, right? The bar has been set so low now for me that anyone who's not a ****head is an improvement, objectively speaking.

Of course, the truth is, the ex (and the relationship) had other attractive, possibly uncommon qualities that make it hard for me to completely dismiss him - but they do ultimately pale next to the overwhelming reality of his sh*ttiness.

Apparently, love is as addictive as heroin and activates the same areas in your brain.

Yes, there is definitely this visceral oxytocin withdrawal element that happens in the breakup process. It really is a bit like being a heroin addict in withdrawal.
