Jake Barnes Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I have a strong chin (I think). I wonder if its too strong now?! I look freakn killer though! have you ever seen that skit in kids in the hall where kevin mcdonald is obsessed with his beard?
Quinch Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I could use a bit of advice here. I'm growing my hair long at the back so it will hang over my shoulders but I'm wondering whether to balance it with a small goatee. What do the ladies think?

Quinch Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 Long at the back sounds suspiciously like a mullet.... I'm thinking something along the lines of (World Series of Poker champion) Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson.

If I'm not mistaken.. you're over 40... long hair for men over 40 is just soooo tacky... ewwww....

underpants Posted July 21, 2008 Posted July 21, 2008 I could use a bit of advice here. I'm growing my hair long at the back so it will hang over my shoulders but I'm wondering whether to balance it with a small goatee. What do the ladies think? Party in the back...business up front? How long is it now? Sometimes I find longer hair on men attractive. Usually if they are attractive with longer hair then they are also attractive with shorter hair. Be thankful you have hair is what my Dad would say. If you want to experiment with growing it out then go for it. Just be sure to keep it healthy, and trim the ends regularly. Be patient through the awkward growing out stages and then see if it suits you. Long healthy hair on a guy can be hot. Thin damaged hair, combined with moderate hair loss is crossing over into overcompensating and comes off as either a little insecure or someone neglectful of their appearence. I have a friend that has very nice hair. At one point it was (perhaps still is) halfway down his back. He has thick, healthy hair. (I wish my hair was that lush) He is always experimenting with different 'looks'. He usually has his hair in a ponytail. I've seen him clean shaven, full beard, goatee, mutton chops, that king tut beard. His wife loves all of his 'looks'. I'm just envious of his hair's natural health and luster. Have you considered the musketeer look? Long dark hair with a small well groomed mustashe and tiny goatee. Of course you will have to learn to swordfight. Have fun and experiment.
my body is a cage Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 some scruff is ok. absolutely no mustaches. full blown beards look like pubic hair on your face.
annieo Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 some scruff is ok. absolutely no mustaches. full blown beards look like pubic hair on your face. Depends on the guy. Artsy, hippie, Jesus boys can look very hot (e.g., Sam Roberts). But generally speaking, I prefer the I forgot to shave today look, not the zztop.
audrey_1 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 My first preference is clean shaven. After that, a small goatee is fine. Anything more, no thanks. I agree. But a little laziness scruff is okay, too.
Trialbyfire Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I agree. But a little laziness scruff is okay, too. I won't disagree although whisker burn can be a pain.
D-Lish Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I won't disagree although whisker burn can be a pain. I like whisker burn, if it hits the right spot the friction is awesome. I like a shaggy haircut and a bit of scruff- or a small patch on the chin. Owen Wilson is over 40 and pulls off the longer surfer boy shaggy look- I love it! I also like a cute faux-hawk. Just no full blown beards or moustaches!!! Yucky.
wierdmunky Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 sucker for wavy long hair... I do like scruff but they hurt....
Redbull Rider Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Every man who ever wanted to get laid by someone other than his male buddies? now THATS funny i rock anything from a 5 o'clock shadow to a short clean beard. havent had any complaints ~~~ yet
Throne Of Lies Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 I have to shave twice a day if I don't want a crazy amount of really dark stubble on fair skin. It is sort of a toss up- if I don't shave the second time before I go out, I won't look as young or as andro which is definitely a plus, but on the other hand, I won't look well put together or maintained either. Plus, deciding what to wear that will look good with stubble always seems fraudulent somehow. I don't even want to know how many hetero points I just lost with that last sentence.
Author JustinWolf Posted July 28, 2008 Author Posted July 28, 2008 After all the itching, I decided to shave the sucker off. Now, I don't even have my goatee cuz I wanted it to be perfect and I screwed up so I had to shave it off too. So here's a tip to the men out there, your goatee looks just fine after the shave, don't try to make it look like it's done by some professional! Just leave it cuz you might regret it. I kept the soul patch as a souvenir!
cazu Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Couldn't pass up this thread without offering my opinion. A shorter, soft beard is sexy.

Soul-Searcher Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Clean-shaven thank you! I do like a slight stubble though. That is hot.
lovestruck818 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 beards are icky and make young hot guys look so old...& gross. Beards, please don't.
mental_traveller Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Lazy man's stubble is where it's at If you are bald, get a goatee Beards look great on old people (60+). The Gandalf look

SnapCracklePop Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 If I want to give my skin a break I shave the neckline only for a couple of days and let the scruff grow, but after three days I cant stand it I do the same... after three days or so, it feels like something is crawling on my face.
katherinev87 Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 I like hair. Not a long gandalf beard by any means...but a scruffy beard on the right guy is hott! Laziness stubble is also very sexy. I don't prefer the 'maintenance' guys...goatees/soul patches and moustaches....they're not for me.
