We took a little time off from seeing each other, but things seem to be better now and the friendship thing is getting to be quite successful. We're walking out of the bar (we live in NYC) where, ahem, I beat him at darts (yay me!) and we stop into one of those little city parks with benches to smoke. While we are sitting there, across from us is sitting a homeless guy, a tranny, and just a general shady looking guy. The tranny starts yelling at my ex: "BOY! YOU SO STRAIGHT! IF YOU WERE ANY STRAIGHTER, YOU'D BE WEARING A RUGBY SHIRT!" Then, he/she walked over and asked for a cig. I give him/her one and she says: "You are a FINE looking couple, really hot. Boy, you better not let go of her!" We just laugh and go along with it. Shady looking character walks over. He says to my ex: "Man, you are ONE lucky man, your woman is FINE! MmMmm. Meanwhile, they keep on shouting: "LOVEBIRDS!" at us. Then, as we are leaving, they call me over while my friend walks over to the street to make a phone call. Tranny says to me: "Girlfriend, you have got that boy WHIPPED." I laugh and say: 'Actually, he broke up with ME. We're just friends now.' Tranny lookg horrified and says: "WHAT! He broke up with YOU???? You should've broke-up with HIM. Honey, look at you, who would give you up???" Homeless guy chimes is: "Seriously!" and then shady guys says: "So you are available now?" I go over to my ex and tell him what they said: 'Those three absolutely crazy people over there think you're an idiot for breaking up with me.' And he goes: "You mean the tranny, homeless dude and the shady guy?" ha! I love New York.
gummybear Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Pretty funny story. But the humor only lasts for awhile, then the reality sinks in. Why are you hanging out with someone who broke up with you? I for one always thinking hanging out with exes is detrimental at worse and pointless at best....

Author pandagirl Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 It's true, tranny's don't lie! Lots of funny stuff has been happening in the city this summer. The other day I tried to pantomime eating an ice cream cone to someone who didn't speak english. You can imagine how that looked... JB. I know. I need to cut him out, but everything is SO fun and great when we see each other that it's hard to resist. I know we get along and function well non-romantically, but there needs to be space for that to truly happen. Inevitably, we always start out on really good behavior, but by the end of the night, we always end up getting cozy, with a couple innocent good night kisses. We talked a bit about what was going on between us, and how we are happy we can be friends and hangout, but that we do slip into couples mode sometimes, but as long as we are trying not to, beinh honest and seeing progress, it's ok. Anyway, i am leaving for california soon anyway, so that will be a long break!
