foxh1234 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Hi folks, I just got back from a blind date set up by a close friend of mine. We went for a bite and then went to see the Will Smith movie ( it was OK) This woman was crazy, that is the only word I can think of, lol. She sent back her food 3 times and was freaking out at the waiter.I was laughing my head off, it was so silly. We could not have been a worse match but I tried my best to be a nice guy and show her a good time. So we start to talk and she tells me that she just broke up with a longtime BF and she now hates men, lol. Being a man, this was a setback. After that she spent the entire dinner talking about her ex, just what I want to talk about, break ups, lol. She had a lot of time to talk while I ate because she kept sending her food back, lol. After telling me about her entire relationship and why it failed she asked about me and if I had been in anything serious. I said not really and moved on with the convo. I did not want to get into my situation. After dinner we went to the movie and she never shut up the whole time. A guy behind us asked her to be quiet and she stood up and screamed at him, I swear to god, lol. This chick has serious anger issues. Anyway, it was such a bad date it was fun. I laughed the whole time and got a real kick out of watching her freak out about dinner and the guy at the movies. I drove her home and politely told her that I wouldn't be calling her again as I didn't think we had enough in common ( me being sane and her the opposite ) She said it figures and got out of the car and that was that. I called my friend and said thanks for the set up but let's not do it again. Overall it was very very funny and I had a great time. I was nervous but once she started talking, I just shook my head and laughed. Dating is kinda fun, I haven't done it much in the last 8 years but I am looking forward to getting out there.
justaman99 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 You must be kidding me. I have been on about 10 dates since my break up. I keep in touch with a couple of them but I will say dating is fun. There are all types out there that's for sure and being somewhat in the same position as you, haven't really dated much ever, you 8 years, it can be quite interesting and in your case humorous. Did you tell your friend what happened? -Just

Did you tell your friend what happened? -Just Hi, no I didn't tell him anything yet. It was seriously like something out of a movie. This woman was really loud, mean and really hard to please. She ordered some kind of pasta and first it was cold, then over cooked than the sauce tasted funny. I have heard of these types of people but had never dined with one, lol. I am still laughing sitting here typing this now. It really was like an episode of Seinfeld.:lmao:
Trialbyfire Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Wow, that's one crazy lady!! "Hi, my name is "one-big-frackin'-red-flag", how do you like me so far?"
Author foxh1234 Posted July 17, 2008 Author Posted July 17, 2008 I also should say that it wasn't a true blind date as I knew of this person and had seen her at a few parties but had never talked to her before or heard anything about her. This girl that was a friend of my friend suggested that we should go out. When my friend asked me I said what the hell. I called this woman and arranged for a date tonight. I'm not mad at anyone, it was all very funny and I really had a good laugh. I am just not going to let my friend or his female friend set me up again.
jerbear Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 wow! You went to the movies after dinner! Wow! I would have ended the date after dinner and go to the movies by myself. Obviously she still has a few things that she needs to work on. Does your friend know what happened and what did your friend say?

Hi TBF, it really was a funny night. This woman has anger issues and she really hates men, lol. Once she said that, I knew she was not the one. :lmao: Anyway, I have no where to go but up from this date.

I figured she might shut up and watch the damn movie, boy was I wrong, lol. I will tell my friend all about it tomorrow. At least I'm smiling.:D
Biker2007 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Fox, I had a similar experience from a date I met on Match a few months ago...at least it was good for a laugh. But I was screaming on the inside...please make her shut up! - your next date Remember, you are so Money Baby!

But I was screaming on the inside...please make her shut up! - your next date Remember, you are so Money Baby! It was the best 80 bucks I ever spent. I have not laughed that much in 4 months. I wish I had videotaped her screaming at the guy in the movie. I would have put it on youtube. I am money, I am so money.
carhill Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Cell phone camera/video, man. Glad you had a good time and a better attitude. Things are looking up!
Biker2007 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Fox, I have followed your other thread about the X contacting you. Keep up the great work! ...Our baby's all grown up.

I would have put it on youtube. I am money, I am so money. Well maybe your friend set you up on this date to get you out of your rut? 80 bucks is cheap for a date. Can't get a deep down laugh for $80 bucks. By the time your down watching a good comedian, you've already spent over $80.
justaman99 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 That would have been great if you told her you were broke and she should pay for dinner anyway. Flip it around on her. "Hey if you want to go out with a great guy like me you have to pay". That's how I roll. Here's a roll of pennies for the tip. -Just
v33 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Jeebus! I would have so fallen for this woman a couple of years ago. If there is type I knew how to pick, it was crazy. At least you have a good story now. On to the next date. (With someone else!)
LikeCharlotte Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Every last one of my dating experiences since the break up have been like this with the exception of one completely impossible circumstance (not dates at all) with a really cool guy who just so happens to live 3500 miles away. I'm glad you are keeping a sense of humor about it. I'm trying but its fading fast. My dates have sucked so much I can't even bear to write it down. I should probably try to laugh about it more. Maybe we can hook our failed dates up. I have the perfect guy for your picky talker, he sent back his food too, criticized the wine and then for an added bonus asked me if I would "like to have sex with him". It was not only clinical but put as if I were supposed to view this as a privileged opportunity. As it stands the rather great guy I met is a high note and I'm leaving it there until I'm absolutely sure I want to go out with someone I meet. I might start testing them first.
Trialbyfire Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 asked me if I would "like to have sex with him". "I'm sorry, I don't think we know each other well enough for penile penetration but I do thank you for the thought."
Lookingforward Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 It sounds like a classic episode of Blind Date - I can just imagine your thought bubbles
Chris1479 Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 80 dollars for a date????? Are you kidding me? There are so many better things to spend 80 dollars on that an insane biatch like that. Should've at least split it, I mean she didn't exactly seem grateful. She just had a free movie and dinner!!!!!
