Not the guy who's mad that he didn't get anywhere with the girl. That never makes sense.

But the guy who sees his buddy getting lucky with a one night stand, or sees a girl that's ever so mildly provocatively dressed, and refers to as a whore? It seems almost hostility towards women having sexuality. This is the same type of guy that hates sex and the city because he's afraid women will become like samantha, even though men want women like samantha around to have sex with!!!! I would think that men would be happy to have a few more Samantha's around but it seems more like this guy is threatened by female sexuality. And of course this guy's reasoning for double standards is that men are "built that way genetically."

Ask any man that's been lied to and cheated on.

I think a good amount of them would say that about an ex. Now for a woman they've never met, well, I dunno. Jealousy I suppose.

Let me ask you.. You can have a different man every night. Do you? And why not if you dont?

If you're asking me, I don't because I don't take sex lightly. I'm self aware and know that I get attached when sex enters the equation, so I prefer to have sex with someone I have feelings for and with whom am in a committed relationship.

Yeah, I don't get the jealousy thing when it's not personal and not an ex.

I knew a guy like that. He called lots of women whores. Including his mother, I might add. He was violent, angry and bitter. At what? I don't know. He was certainly crazy, but I never knew what happened to him to make him hate women as much as he did. Men who refer to women as whores no matter what kind of woman they have any type of contact with hate women. Why? Don't know. What I do know is that you don't want anything to do with someone like that. They might even be affectionate towards you but they can and will lash out at you in ways you are not prepared for. Stay away.

the guy would be jealous cause she's getting all the sex she wants.. but not him... more about 'envy' than jealousy though.. :D

thanks morten. You confirmed what I was already beginning to allow myself to see. The guy put me on a pedestal because I was a "good girl" and was very gentle, but I think it was a facade. It seemed less like an immature response and more of a hostile one.

I seem to be questioning a few of your posts tonight, Daphne!

If Friend A picks up a chick for the night and Friend B comments that she's a whore, he did it for one of three reasons:

1) He's mad at her. He tried picking her up previously, and got shot down.

2) It has nothing to do with her. He just wants to look like a big man, or

3) He's just giving his buddy a hard time. After all, he knows what an a__hole the guy is, and that no self-respecting girl would go
anywhere
with him.

#3 is rare, as most friends won't jeopardize a buddy's chances (they may joke about it once he's on his way home, but that's another matter). Usually it's an ego-saving move (see reason 1).

Okay, let's assume for a minute that I'm your typical guy. Here's my entire knowledge base of Sex & The City:

  • Sarah Jessica Parker is in it (not a huge fan of hers, but I do know she's in it).
  • The gorgeous brunette is Charlotte (I think she was looking for that one true love, which is just a bonus).
  • The series is over.
  • They made a movie based on the series.

That's all I know. Since you probably want some male responses to your question, we need clarification on the info before we can answer the question. So, which one is Samantha, why would us guys be afraid of women turning into her, and why would we specifically want her around to have sex with?
