Lizzie60 Posted July 15, 2008 Posted July 15, 2008 Right now I'm listening to "I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It". Very catchy song. I'll check out Duffy's song. It better not be slow, Lizzie.. or have you taken a listen to it?! Nope just a wild guess.. never heard it.
Author astra77 Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Nope just a wild guess.. never heard it. Sorry - its a slow one - "Mercy" by Duffy is a sexy soul type song. My message was about self empowerment, I am in a better place now, but i feel like a fool and was just pondering i guess. i feel like a junkie whose just realised the 'high' i got out of that part of my life was pointless. I would imagine a BS could also apply this song to themselves, why should a BS be a stepping stone ? They shouldnt. If a BS has stayed in the M then it wouldnt apply but if the BS left - dont be a stepping stone !! :)
Owl Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Just to counterbalance Lizzie's song, I'll throw one out equally egotistical from the BETRAYED HUSBAND's viewpoint. I give you the chorus of the song "Next Contestant" by Nickleback: Here comes the next contestant [CHORUS] Is that your hand on my girlfriend? Is that your hand? I wish you'd do it again I'll watch you leave here limping I wish you'd do it again I'll watch you leave here limping There goes the next contestant Yes, this is from a jealous boyfriend's pov. Yes, this has all the male testosterone screaming in it, yes this is full of that whole "possessiveness" that so many claim should exist in a relationship, yes this is sheer ego thinking that the guy in the song has the ability to back it all up....but there ya go! Its got the same "ego" built into as the song "Jolene" that gives all that power to the OW in the situation. I LOVE doing kata or working out on a bag to songs like this one!

Well, except for one thing;)

Tomcat33 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Killing spiders? EWWW YESSS!!! Killing any bug actually...getting up to see what the loud noice outside is, lifting heavy stuff, helping when the car is stuck oh myyyy the list is endless for me. I am such a wuss. I still need a man a LOT actually... and I don't kiss girls no mattter how good it feels. Sorry I love the smell and feel of man too much to kiss a girl. BUT Lyss that song is VERY catchy, funny thing is the other night when you posted that commet I had JUST finnished watching an interview they did with Kate Perry here on one of our local tv shows. She is from my hometown and she is totally cool and funny, it was quite intersting. She is as gay as they come and both her parents are hardcore religious fanatics which goes to show the more you try to discipline your children the more they will want to rebell.

So you're saying she's gay because her parents disciplined her and its how she's rebelling against them???
Tomcat33 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 So you're saying she's gay because her parents disciplined her and its how she's rebelling against them??? I KNEW someone was going to say that. NO, she is gay and that's totally cool that's not the rebellious part, to her parents the worst nightmare is that she is so public about it and is making a living writing and singing about her sexual preference, THAT'S what's rebellious.
Virgo1982 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 I think the point was to not allow yourselves to be used by a cake eater as so many obviously do. If this does not apply to your situation, then ignore it. I agree. This song can probably be used to describe the feelings of some BS. It depends on the affair really. Do you feel a BS is being used by a cake-eater or just the OP?
OWoman Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 Killing spiders? You kill spiders?  That's so totally mean! What did the poor spider do to you, besides eat all the mosquitoes that would have given you malaria, eat all the flies that would have spread disease, eat all the horseflies that would have bitten you...? Spiders are a treasure, and are welcome in my house any day (but you, Owl, will only be welcome if you sign an undertaking not to kill any spiders in my house ) Occasionally deadly spiders find their way indoors and I worry about the dog, who loves to pounce on small wrigging or writhing things (she's a pinscher, they're bred as ratters) so for those I've got a capture-and-release policy, but the rest are welcome to remain indoors.

AAAAAAAAAAAAARRGH! It's going to get stuck in my head all day...
