chryssy83 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Thing is, I'm not sure if I REALLY want one this time. I love him with all my heart and would do anything to be with him, but I just don't know if he's able to do what it takes to have a good, healthy relationship anytime soon. In a moment of weakness I texted him today. He texted back. He misses me, he said. So now what should I do?
justaman99 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Whatever you do think before you act. That is if you do decide to start merging your lives together again make sure you talk about what you need in the relationship and from him. Make sure you communicate about what didn't work before for both of you. Don't go into this if you're feeling lonely or because he's comfortable. Do it because you want to and be sure to gauge his true interest in getting back together. The focus first is to look at what happened and to work on making sure you have respect enough for each other to understand the needs of one another. Take it slooooooow. -just
Author chryssy83 Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 I agree completely (although some of that sounds hard...). Thing is, I don't know what to do immediately. Should I make some other contact or just let some more time pass? Should I just let him make the next move if there is one to be made? The taking it slow is key. We already tried to get back together and he wanted to jump right back to the way things were before and it went BADLY. That's how we got here....I wanted to work it out, he wanted to have dinner and catch a movie.
Trialbyfire Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Chrissy, you and I are polar opposites so here goes. How many times have you broken up before, who broke up with who each time and what caused your breakups? It helps to get background so we can understand the dynamics a bit better.
Author chryssy83 Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Probably 5 or 6, him, and he freaks out and says he's not sure what he wants.
porter218 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Probably 5 or 6, him, and he freaks out and says he's not sure what he wants. Yuck, that sounds bad. Leave him alone he will never know what he want. Don't contact him back.
