About a month ago I shared my story with this forum. My ex and I dated for nearly 4 years, but split close to a year ago. My last post dealt with the difficulty of seeing her for the first time in public since she left me. I also discussed how I am supposed to function going to the same small college as her next year.

Well I have a few updates. I let everyone know that she sent me a pretty heart felt apology message after seeing me with my new girlfriend downtown last month. Since then, we have ran into each other 3 more times. Its weird to run into someone four times in a month when you went a full nine months without seeing them once. Its hard to comprehend so many random encounters with the person you loved so much in such a short time. I am still trying to process it all.

Since her apology message, we have started communicating on occasion, always through facebook messages or emails. When we see each other in public; however, we never say more than hi, usually due to me being with my current girlfriend everytime I see her.

Well my situation gets complicated not because of these randoms encounters, but because we recently had a conversation about our class schedule for the fall semester. Some how, we both ended up in the same Italian class, which is a two semester course that meets three days a week and has a two hour lab every week. There are less than 15 people in this class. Even though the school is small, the chances of two students in seperate grades ending up in one of the smaller classes is rare. So basically, I am going to be in a tiny, very interactive class with my ex for an entire college year. We both were pretty shocked when we saw we had the same class, but not in a bad way.

For some reason I can't help but think that with all of the random run-ins and the fact that she is coming to my school and will be in one of my classes, that this goes beyond coincidence. Its just really bizarre, and I need some help with how I should react and act this fall. Also, she heard that a mutual friend of ours is having some family problems...to cheer him up, I told her I was going to take him out for the day to get his mind off of everything. She said she wanted to come too.
