longlegzs80 Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 I don't know what it is, but lately I have not been eatting very much. I would say I eat very very little throughout the day. It is kinda strange because I love eatting. And usually my eatting varies. Sometimes I eat ALOT of food, where I am stuffing my face throughout the day and then there are some times, like the past 3 weeks or so, where I barely eat a thing. Today I have not even eatten yet, and I am not really hungry. So, what is the deal? I don't want myself to wither away, but pretty much have no appetite. Please help.
Tony T Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Some people experience suppressed appetite when they are depressed. Is that the case here? Did you start taking some particular medications three weeks ago? Did anything else in your life change? Otherwise, you need to seek medical help immediately. Sudden change in appetite can signal serious metabolic or other physical problems...or there may be nothing wrong at all. But you need to find out.
Author longlegzs80 Posted July 31, 2003 Author Posted July 31, 2003 I am not on anything, no drugs, but been depressed. I have been worrying alot about getting into my field, and somewhat scared. I think that could be something. Plus, everytime I am home, my mother likes to throw in her digs when she knows I have gained weight. I know when I came home from college, I was heavier in my legs, and she made her comments. I feel like I can't be who I am. I am welcoming in the weight. Anywho I am not sickly thin, I just totally lost my appetite. So, I don't know. I think a major reason is my mom though. She does not want me to get fat. But hey, whatever happens happens. I am all about getting a more volumpshuis figure. HEHEHEHE.
Tony T Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Unless you are extremely suggestive, I don't think your mother's wishes would affect your appetite per se. That's a biological function governed by your own body. Now, I do suppose the mind being the strong influence it is, that is possible. But if this were the case, many people who see stories on the news everyday about the obsesity epidemic would lose their appetites as well...but they usually gain more weight. Your mother may have extreme influence on you...and that is very possible Monitor this situation closely and make sure you take a good vitamin supplement and eat some food. If you approach getting unsightly thin, get to a doctor. Meanwhile, there's lots of people who would love to be in your shoes.
