I didnt really bring that up... he brought up hints that we should go out for coffee sometime or at least dinner, and I guess I was suppose to follow through? Eh... I know he's free on the weekends. But then that would mean hitting the clubs and lots of alcohol?

Weekends doesn't have to mean hitting clubs and alcohol. Just arrange a social meeting and treat it as such. If anything comes of it, then you're a winner. Relax and enjoy it.
