gummybear Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t156951/ The thread above tells my story. Over the past week, I thought I was over it. I mean I rarely thought about him. Maybe cuz it was the long weekend and I visited my family. But suddenly today I thought about him and started to miss him and really feel like giving him a call tomorrow morning to ask him to meet up, kind of like to take him out cuz it was his bday. I know I shouldn't, but I want to. I think it's a comibnation of me missing him and me not wanting him to just forget me. But then again, I did lie to him during our relationship.
Untouchable_Fire Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 It's too late. That ship has sailed. It's time for you to move on. Do you think this would help you move on?
Crestfallen_KH Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 I'm willing to wager that you're feeling this way - today especially - because of your date tonight. I felt the same way when I went on my first date after my divorce. That's how I knew I wasn't ready to date. I bawled all the way home from that date, even though I had an ok time. I waited a few more weeks and the second date went much better. Try not to think of your ex, but also accept that this could be a signal that you have some emotional work to do before making yourself truly available again.

I think I'm also quite nervous about my date tonight because I'm afraid I'd be disappointed and it'd make me miss my ex even more! As for your second date, was it with the same person you had the first date with? He was ok with waiting a few weeks for a second date? Yea I think I'll see how it goes tonight. If it brings back too many negative emotions, I might just have to take another break before dating again.
Crestfallen_KH Posted July 8, 2008 Posted July 8, 2008 No, the first guy and I didn't click. He was more messed up than I was at the time. The second date was with a guy who ended up becoming my boyfriend.
