StockUP Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I met this girl through friends of mine I have been spending the past 7 months with. They are great people and my one friend thought right away this friend would be good to me. We hung out 3 times as a group, and I wasn't interested at the start. Well, my birthday party saw me rise to a drunken stupor, and she was there, and spent her night taking care of my very intoxicated self, as I even....yes, threw up a little on her shirt. I know it sounds so horrible. She brought me water, took me to my room, undressed my muddy, puke stained clothes, and just waiting there patiently till I passed out. I woke up the next day, and got her number from my friend and called her and rather embarrasingly thanked her for taking care of me. I was rather enamored with the fact that she took care of me, and I somehow immediately became interested in her. I love people like that. We went to lunch that day and hung out several more times. I have hung out 3 various time with her "best" friends and I must say though its a rather distrubing group. One is a guy she dated a short while in high school, and the other is a girl who she met at work. Those two friends have now been dating for a year now, and they blatantly make her the 3rd wheel. They are extremely selfish, and do the things only THEY want to do, and diregard her in many respects. The one girl didn't even say hello to me 2/3 of the time when we hung out even though I tried saying hello and having a conversation with her several times!!! I am convinced I don't want to spend time with any of those people in that group. I also was brished off because she was home one night, but then came to find out the next morning that this one guy friend of her best friend who she doesn't even like, asked if she would take him to a bar to see this chick he met the night before. Being the care giver she did, but they still blew her off not mentioning she didn't need to hang out till 3am since he was going home with this girl. They are just such sheisty friends!!!! I don't want to make people choose, but man it's so obvious they are using her! Its very unfortunate. I am at this point now, too where her I want to make everyone happy nature is starting to upset me. because she tried to make her friends happy she blew me off, when she could have been doing something fun for herself with me. Also, she is very last minute kind of person. I'm a planner too which makes it at odds for the two of us. I want to keep getting to know her, and make it clear my boundaries of, not wanting to hang out with her friends. I hate the fact I feel like I'm making someone choose, but I really want to show her that friends should take care of you, and not just use you like that. Also, I'm just wondering whether or not I should just perhaps realize these red flags and perhaps throw in the towel. I am not one to quit, and her personality is extremely attractive, but I have been a lot more concerened about what will work and what won't in relationships. I wish I just had a video to show of how they act which would make it seem more clear. I know how people come and go into your life, and perhaps these friends have outlived their usefulness, but I just think she deserves so much better, but don't want to push it to the point where everything just craps out. What to do? Any thoughts?
