ioncebelieved Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I got to thinking about something lately as I do quite often. Why would you change your phone numbers, IM and emails? Or block them period? It stands to reason that would be giving them power over you making you do something. I can understand doing it if it really becomes a problem with them harassing the H E L L out of you or something. I am not saying keep things the same to leave the door open for them either. I just refuse to change things because of her!!!! Not like she is bothering me right now and she sent me an IM and text message last Tuesday, which I simply ignored. For me, it takes more strength to avoid them instead of the pain of changing or blocking. Anyways, just my thought.

I think the only time it would be necessary to do that (changing email/numbers) would be if the ex was stalking you or contact was just causing too much pain. For most, simply ignoring them is prob. best. And for sure, for those who still have their ex's on myspace/msn lists etc, get them off there. Nothing more counter productive than to be seeing updates in your ex's life.

I wanted her to call one last time, so I could get that satisfaction. It's tempting to answer though, so I changed it. It also lets them know that you are officially through with the games.

Well, then if it works for you Y, good stuff. You've made amazing progress lately man, well done.
Trialbyfire Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 The concept of getting rid of everything, is to remove temptation during your weaker moments. In many ways you're taking back control because they can't contact you, unless you allow it. I've never changed any of my contact information, although I've blocked or redirected to the trash bin.
