I'm just curious, what's your dating history and how do you feel about it? For example, I've had people I dated for say a few weeks here and there for awhile but it never became anything. And I didn't get my first bf until I was 23! I obviously don't have much of a history and I kinda feel like I've missed out on life because of it. I wish I had the pleasure of a bf when I was in hs and in college. How about you?

How many bf/gfs have you had?

When you break up with one, for how long do you go single until you find another partner?

How do you feel about being single (and I mean, honestly)? (When I'm not dating anyone or have a bf, I feel empty. I know I should be happy being alone, but there are times when I've gone years without a date and it doesnt get any better.)

My first relationship was with a girl - we were 17 and in high school. We had to hide it from everyone, then we were going off to different cities for university so we (she) called it off after three months.

Then a guy in my first year of university (18) - sweet guy but really naive and immature and started to get on my nerves which only got worse until I was repulsed by him, so I broke up with him (about six months), and he cried :(

Then about a year later (19), starting going out with my current boyfriend (almost two years - now 21 - and very much in love)

So not much experience for me, but enough to know what's out there, what I like and dislike etc.

I don't mind being single, but I'm always on the lookout - that's the fun of being single, checking people out and getting to know them etc.

Quantity does not equal quality and lack of quantity does not equal "missing out" in life.

Life is a journey, whether you're single, in a relationship or married. Don't limit yourself by labeling and, rather, spread your eggs (your thoughts, aspirations and love) around and resist putting them all into one human basket. That's a great lesson my wife has taught me.

My dating history would make you smile, so just smile anyway and don't worry so much about history. The future is what is important. :)

Oh man, I really like carhill's posts

I had one relationship from 17 to 20, then wasn't really interested in dating, but fell for several guys (never came to a R though).

For the longest time I also was worried with having missed out on things and haven't been unable to get my act together and get to meet more men. However, I've finally accepted that life indeed is a journey no matter what, and that if I've come to the point where I'd like to take a deeper look at what's out there and have the guts to date more, I should do so. It doesn't help me to think about what I haven't done, but to decide what I want to do now.

As to the feelings while being single, I enjoyed it for quite a few years. Then I started wishing I had a bf and it didn't happen, so I felt sad and empty too... now I still don't have a bf but I feel very comfortable being single. I just have stopped trying to find someone who tells me who I am and instead have my eyes open for someone to share things with. And I can patiently wait for that person to appear in my life :p
