I Luv the Chariot OH Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I have pretty high standards, but most people I know seem to agree that women are most attractive in their early 20s, and men, probably late 20s to early 30s. But even then I'd say only 34.2%.

Of course it's low.. as we age.. we get less and less attractive.. that's normal.. some age better than others.. but in general.. Older people are getting more and more 'invisible' in this 'young, successful, cosmetically-boosted attractive' society..

Well, when I was younger I did but it became a bit of a problem. I'd try to give a guy a chance, but he might be more into me than I was into him, and it just became messy more often than not.

Though I also take into account how people are acting, good looking person acting like a pig isn't attractive to me or I see an average guy being kind that makes him more attractive in my eyes. carhill Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Of the women I know well or have been/am friends with, one in five. On the street/random exposure, maybe one in fifty. I delineate between global attractiveness and superficial attractiveness. The above figures are global. IOW, I can see a woman on the street and say "Hmm, she looks great/beautiful", but have no sexual interest or attraction. With others, there is an extra "dimension" to their existence, regardless of their appearance. That's perhaps weird (for a guy), but it does hopefully explain the numbers better
D-Lish Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 I find less than 2% of men my age attractive. (In my 30's). That is why I date guys in their 20's. I guess I'd have to say 5-10% of guys in that age range are attractive enough and I think men hit their peak between 21-24. I am picky though.

If it's solely based on the first cursory glance, my guesstimate would be less than 10%, in that I can say, yes, he's attractive but like carhill, zero interest in getting to know them. As for attraction, less than 1%. My bar is set pretty high for internals.

They all look like little boys - with the latest (very Roman) trend of being clean-shaven, waxed chests etc. Men start to get attractive in their late twenties, at their peak in their thirties and forties, then start to get less attractive after about 60. I wouldn't go out with someone as old as 60 - but I can honestly say i look forward to growing old with someone As for women, I'm very picky. Any age from 18-let's say 50, but only about 5%. Preferably dark hair, a bit podgy (with that gorgeous glow!) and not too feminine or masculine.
EnigmaXOXO Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 My particular tastes lean more towards the exotic look, which is outside the norm of what makes most women go gah-gah. What I find sexy, attractive and appealing just seems way far left of what you find these days with so many cookie-cutter guys. To me, they all just seem to look so much alike. So I only find about one in twenty guys who really stand out in a crowd enough to be worth a second look. However, I think there is a higher percentage of attractive women to men. I’d say 60% percent of the female population rates above average. Then again, you have to consider the enormous amounts of money, time, effort (and sometimes unhealthy obsession) a female puts into her appearance compared to her male counterparts.
