Strawberry Cane Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 He's been depressed lately about his career... and I feel like I want to do something for him to make his jaw drop... not sexual... (we have great sex) rather something that I could give him that wouldn't cost a lot but something that a guy would be like... WOW! I CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE WOULD GO TO ALL THAT TROUBLE FOR ME! Something that would knock his socks off... Any ideas? ANYTHING AT ALL!
Keridan Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 First of all; good for you! That kind of support is a nice and unfortunately rare thing. Secondly, we need more information to really help. What are his interests? Given a week off of work, what would he do? Does he play video games? Is he a fitness or outdoors person? How old is he? Is he very social? Every guy is different. For me, I would just be stoked if my wife set up a camping trip or gave me a weekend where I did no dishes or the lawn or any of that. I'm a simple guy. I would love to help you achieve your goal. As I'm sure several others would
Shygirl15 Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Maybe a weekend get-away to some nice beach hotel? But that's going to cost.
refurb Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 You're on the right track. Nothing is more awesome than someone who does something simple that obviously shows a ton of thought. A girl I dated for a few years used to wear a certain kind of perfume. They stopped making it. So for Xmas, I searched high and low for a supplier who still had a bottle left. I finally tracked one down and gave it to her for Xmas. It wasn't expensive ($40 I think), but she had tears in her eyes when she opened it because she knew the trouble I went through to find it. So to answer your question, it depends on the guy. I'm pretty easily impressed, so even if a girl made me dinner I'd be touched. However, one thing that might help is, is there anything that you particularly don't like that he does? That can often show a lot of effort. Say a guy is really into a certain musician that you don't particularly like. If you were to track down a hard-to-find album that would be impressive! Good luck! RF
Ally Boo Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 I dated a guy who liked turtles and he was depressed about his career too. He had turtles all over his apartment. Like seriously- it was odd. lol Anyway, I was getting him a turtle. Not just any turtle either, a really smart and rare turtle. Well, I had to tell him about it of course, because I wasn't just gonna show up with a turtle and just me telling him all about the turtle I picked out made him so happy and shocked him that I cared so much to get him out of his funk. I didn't get him the turtle- long story, but just going to the trouble of knowing things about something he loved was enough for my guy.
