way back in the late 70s, when my sister's friend had her baby, she said Bootsy (her baby) used to just love chewing the lid of the plastic margarine dishes – the stuff came in a small yellow bowl, so the lid's rim was shallow and small enough for Bootsy to grab onto

i've also heard of using popsicles or some such tasty frozen treat for chewing, so possibly freezing your baby's fruit might work. though I'm surprised that the frozen teething stuff wasn't as successful with her, i figure the cold element would be what makes it feel good!

How about a finger?

I've been bitten by my friend's kids when they where teething.

Amazing that a 8 month old would look at your finger, chomp down on your finger, then slobber over it.

The finger suggestion was not meant to be funny but in hind sight I laughed at myself for letting them get a bite out of me.

Try giving her a cold wash cloth thats semi frozen to chew on. This seemed to work well for my little ones when all else failed. Best of luck.

Make sure to have a Pediatrician check out a very fussy baby that's inconsolable. There might be something else wrong as well.

Something that worked well for my children (when others failed) was watermelon rind. I would cut a few circular pieces (twice the size of their mouth) to keep in the refrigerator with just a little bit of fruit on them for sweetness.

I agree with Meaplus, the cold semi-frozen washcloth is great, my son loves that. Also if your still breast feeding, like i am at 6 months, you can pump and freeze the milk in an ice cube tray and give it to your baby in one of those mesh bags you use for fruits. Its cold, the mesh scratches their gums, and they love it cause its breastmilk. Good Luck!!! :)

My son didn't have too many issues with teething. Most of it was resolved by putting baby orajel on his 'binky'. When he chomped on that it distributed the medicine and he was fine long enough to get some rest.

I've noticed that strangers just love to give advice when you're a new parent. During my son's teething, a woman had said that her one child's gums were pretty thick so their teeth were having a hard time cutting through. What they did (and I can't say I would do this myself) was give their child a pork chop bone to gnaw on (fully cooked, of course). I guess the roughness of it helped to cut through the child's gums to allow the teeth to come through.

Again, I'm not suggesting you give your child bones, but like others have said, finding something rough to chew on might help the teeth to cut through faster.
