I have ignored his texts for the last 2 days, I haven't even read them, because I'll be pulled to respond and I don't want to. What message am I sending to him by ignoring him? Will this make him mad? I don't want to do that. I just need some space. Please advise!

NC is not for everyone.

Of course it would make another person mad! It made me mad as hell when I got dumped. I got over it and moved on.

It really depends on what the relationship was like between you two.

Why do you need space? Is it because he is clingy, needy, or you feel the relationship is moving to fast? NC should be used when the relationship is just not working due to any factors like you two may have different ideas, kids no kids, marriage vs common law, religious conversion, race, economics, etc...

NC is not about winning the ex back it is more to heal and move on. Moving on to find someone more compatible with your ideals, temperment, goals, or life stage.
