I'm one step towards quitting the rat race.

I'm going to Boulder, CO next month to stay with a friend to see if I want to move out there. I hate cold, but it's a small town with better public transportation than my city that dwarfs Boulder, an artsy feel, skiing and snowboarding up the mountain, a couple of casinos next door, and best of all it's not here.

Traffic is a soul crusher. I live in one of the worst cities for trafifc. Working for the man is too. Good lord I hope I take the plunge. I'll never know how I'll do if I don't try. And one of my good friends, who is hyper conservative, thinks that if anyone can pull it off, I can.

Starting to think positively. :bunny:

Boulder is still the city I'd most like to move to. But it does seem to be losing its charm.

Just pick yourself up, and keep on thrusting. You'll get there.

if anyone can pull it off, I can.

Try not to get too excited, too quickly. Resolve to slow down, and enjoy life. Be gentle, and you can get exactly what you want without having to pull it (completely) off.

Ariadne?

I wouldn't mind living there. I love cold weather. As much as I may complain how cold it is, well I just like to complain. ;)

And hey, anywhere there is a casino is where you should live. ;):bunny:

how so? The only thing I"ve heard is that it's becoming less patchouli crowd, maybe a little snootier. But it's a bit snobby where I'm at anyway so I figure it'll be less so.

Slow down and enjoy life? Sigh. That'll be the biggest test of all. Can I do that in a small town with fewer diversions, more time and fewer aggressive ass clowns?

I'm sensing you're telling me not to worry about failure. I already feel a little bit like one, since I'm pining about leaving the $$ making machine to go live in the country. No one at my job will understand, and most of my friends don't. But i'm unhappy. I feel like that woman on ER who left in the prime of the show.

I'll try to be gentle but it'll take some time away from other type a over achievers to do that.
