MalachiX Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I'm curious about my powers of perception. I've got a co-worker/friend who I flirt with a lot. She's hot as hell but she has a husband and child, the baby I've actually met once or twice. She never shies away from talking about her husband or family yet we flirt a bit, usually greet with a quick kiss on the cheek or peck on the lips (nothing major). Now, my horny guys friends keep saying things along the lines of, "she wants to sleep with you." One or two are bitter since they've tried to sleep with her and she's shot them down. My take on it is the following: While there's clearly a mutual attraction (we've both had sex dreams about each other), I flirt with her because she's hot and she flirts with me because she knows I like her/respect her and would never actually go through with anything (I'm safe). Thoughts?
theobserver Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 Look give this forum a read. Let all the stories soak in. Now do you want to be the douche that helps this woman commit infidelity? Sure it might be fun for abit you get to bang this "hot" chick, maybe you'll get away with it but then maybe her husband will find out. Maybe he starts to harrass you, maybe your employer is informed maybe you are forced to leave your job ... maybe as I go on and on you realise this isn't worth it. Seems like you're really just after a quick fling with her can't you find someone else and really if you do want any kind of loving relationship with her why would you want to be with someone that would cheat on her husband which whom she has a child with? Why would you want to be with someone like that who may do it with you the day she finds someone to click with better? Now I don't mean to be hard on her she hasn't done anything yet, I'm just saying get these thoughts out of your mind. Theres a lot of women out there are you telling me you can't go persue someone that's not already with someone? Pecking on the lips, ugh crossing it abit in my book ANYWAY don't cross that respect line while I'd argue your flirting and even expressing you've both "dreamed" about screwing eachother is unusual I'd say your both slowly falling into an emotional affair soon enough if not already. I think once she starts telling you about problems at home and not just random facts she loves about her husband and son then you have a problem. I would say back off, keep this fantasy a fantasy just remain a casual work friends. Respect her marriage, and unless she gets a divorce then she's free pickings. Don't be the ass who becomes the "other man" unless your happy to live with it and live with being a complete ass who thought with his dick rather then the brain god gave him. Your male co-workers sound like *******s but atleast she flat out rejected them. Doesn't seem she thinks you'll do that so DON'T. To answer your actual question though (I guess your question wasn't too clear I mean I know what you want but how to answer is confusing) I think she's setting you up to have an affair with her. That's just me. It's clear your flirting and talks are not that of "just friends" friends don't flirt the way you tw are describing and you've admitted you want her so already this is bad.
Author MalachiX Posted June 21, 2008 Author Posted June 21, 2008 I never have had any intention of having ANYTHING with her (at least not conciously). Yes she's hot as hell and I'm sex starved but I'd also like to be able to sleep at night. I wasn't asking for advice on how to pursue a relationship. Like I said, I genuinely like her as a person and would never be a part of destroying her family. I was just curious if my hypothesis, that she flirts with me because she knows I'm "safe," seemed likely.
smoothrider Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 No she flirts with you because your a potential mate if the right circumstances fall into piece it's not because you're "safe" you're an idiot to think so unless she's an actual air head. As said above go get laid.
Tomcat33 Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 She doesn't flirt with you because you are "safe" please, there is an obvious sexual attraction there and that is why she flirts with you. You may be conscious of not getting involved with her but her actions demonstrate otherwise, and pehaps you have been lying to yourself that "no she can't possibly be into me for the same reasons I am into her" but the reality is that it is mutual. So either cut it out or accept that this going down the path where TheObserver explained. It's funny but the protagonist is always the last to figure things out in cases like these.
