4givrnt4gtr Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 So long story short (long version in other posts), caught bf texting dirty stuff to random chick. At first i thought i couldnt forgive him, but then it wasnt that easy. I then decided to give it another try but first I asked him to take some time to think about what he wanted. I asked him to not contact me and really think about whether he can love me and respect me the way I deserve to be. I said I wasnt expecting to hear from him that weekend (as he said he would call me to see how we could figure things out) or the next or even the next. I asked him to take the time he needed to make sure this is what he wanted After I asked him this (last week) I havent heard from him at all (ofcourse). Now im wondering if that was a good move. I miss him like crazy but I do need him to figure it out before anything else. Was I right about this? or did I just finish pushing him away? if so, what should I do now?
feelinblu Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I think you did the right thing to ask this of him. You do deserve better than that, so I think it's good to let him know what life's like without you in it. You both need to be willing to give it another chance for things to work though. As far as him not contacting you, you asked him not to, so it's good he's respecting that. Personally I don't think you should be the one hoping he's willing to give it another shot- he should be hoping YOU are willing from what it sounds like. Stick to your guns, otherwise you're showing him that he can walk all over you.
carhill Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Was I right about this? Yes or did I just finish pushing him away? Maybe if so, what should I do now? Nothing....he's not going to change a behavior overnight. Let him be. Go enjoy yourself with your friends and entertain attention from polite gentlemen who don't text "dirty stuff to random chicks".............
Author 4givrnt4gtr Posted June 20, 2008 Author Posted June 20, 2008 ............. lol carhill, dont you just love how messy my life is at the moment? Every area of my life is relationship-wise is messed up. Thank you for responding to all my posts {{hug}}
carhill Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I think "love" is a bit too strong of a word I abhor drama and pain and wish them upon no one. That said, reading anecdotes here puts my pain in perspective and for that I'm thankful
