CandyGirlXO Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I just have a quick question/concern. I am recently single and ready to mingle. The break-up was my decision and I know I need to move on with my life. I have been going out as often as I can with my girlfriends just trying to have as much fun as possible. The problem is I am a really shy girl. I am fairly attractive, so I have never had to ask a guy out etc... They have always came to me, asked me for my # and so on. I just want to know what most guys think about shy girls? I am not shy once I get to know the person, but I am not one to initiate anything. My friends tell me if I want to find a good guy that I should make the first move. I just refuse to do this. I am too shy to do that, and I was always told that the guy will go to you. Opinions?!?!?!
the_blur Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I am too shy to do that, and I was always told that the guy will go to you. Opinions?!?!?! Well, that saddles the men with handling _ALL_ of the rejection (at least initially) and taking all of the risks! All women need to do is sit and wait (and preen). I call foul. I am shy too, terribly, but I am a man, so I suck it up and go get what I want. You friends are right. Go get what you want. If the guy you want finds you attractive, lucky you!
xpaperxcutx Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Shy girls equal cute and attraction wise, guys will come up to and ask you out. But they might grow impatient with the lack luster response from you because you fail to offer a bit of initiative, they might take it as a brushoff. Try more of a coy approach.
I am who I am Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Ahh.... hot girls that have no confidence, low self-esteem, no personal boundaries, no social skills... All in the name of "I'm shy" Damn I miss college.
MaxManwell Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Shy girls are the best. I love quiet well mannered women but you've got to have social skills to back it up so that when we do get you out of your shell you have to be fun to talk too. Nothing worse than obnoxious, rowdy, and loud girls (thats my job).

It's not as big a problem for men as it is for women. As long as you don't sit expecting the man to do all the work - including the talking - I'm sure it's no problem.

I am too shy to do that, and I was always told that the guy will go to you. Opinions?!?!?! At some point, you may experience a man who moves you and he may not necessarily "go to you". You'll perhaps have to take a risk. How do you feel about risks? Being passive allows one more control over the process but not the potentials. Do you feel out of control if you desire to take the initiative? I ask these questions because I was "shy" when I was younger and, for a man, it led to a lot of interesting solitary activities. The upside is I'm perfectly happy being alone, which has helped me through the bad times in my marriage. There are still shy women left in my age group (not many) and I'd have no issues with them now. Interestingly, I do feel more "manly" around such a woman, compared to how I feel around my wife, who is outgoing and aggressive. Go figure
