It's just a lil bit of hair but black.. it's not that bad but still it bothers me. But wouldn't plucking hella hurt?

Every chick has hair on her nipples, whether she admits it or not, just like we all have hair else place(well, not directly ON, but you know what I mean). Dont shave, beucase that will cuase ingrown hairs and make it look HORRIBLE. Plucking does hurt, try doing it after a shower when the hairs are still wet, same as your eyebrows, the hair is softer, so it will come out easier and be less painful.

No one likes hairy boobs!

Untrue, Bonzai. There are people who like hairy women and people who like hairless men. There is a HUGE range of tastes.

I gather that shaving actually makes them grow in thinner eventually. You could go for electrolysis, of course.

shaving causes hair to return thicker

Posted

Actually that's a myth. Shaving does not causes hair to grow back thicker. It's the way the hair grows back in that gives it the appearance of it being thicker, but it's really not. So you are free to shave. Just be sure you're shaving in the right direction so that you do not have ingrown hairs.

Nair them, or pluck them or wax them- dont' shave them!

I've been to cosmetology school where we do a section on the study of hair, and it discusses the myth that hair grows back thicker after it's been shaved. It's a myth. It does not. When hair grows back, it grows at an angle where it appears to be thicker, but it's actually not. Because we've been conditioned to believe that hair grows back thicker, we've done psyched ourselves into believe that it does. Shaving takes the hair off the surface of the skin. The rest of the hair is still in the skin. So when that hair grows out, it will grow out being the same texture of hair as you've always had. It's like if you cut grass. The grass does not grow back thicker. Hair can never grow thick if your hair was not thick to begin with, and hair can not change it's natural texture unless it has been chemically processed. This myth has also been televised on MTV's Big Urban Myths show.

You can use ice to numb the skin before you pluck, it may be very cold, but it's less painful.

BoyTeaseR..... I saw no references but ......you are a girl ....right ?

Shave minimizing moisturizers really work. They don't actually remove hair, but they make it thinner, paler, and slower growing over 4 weeks or so. You need to use them daily, but it's a pleasant smelling, normal lotion.

Per her profile she's a girl.

All you people that think hair comes back thicker after shaving...please post some links to published studies proving this.

Hint: It doesn't, and you can not prove it. It's an old wives tale, and has no basis in truth.

Sorry..

Now go shave those furbies!

Get unwanted hair waxed.

I read somewhere in a magazine that when you're wanting to pluck any hair, place a hot washcloth over the hairs for at least 10 minutes in order to let the root of the hair moist and it will hurt less. Yes, I mean, it will hurt when you're plucking any hair, but try what I just mentioned with the washcloth. Don't try using an icecube. I've tried that on my eyebrows, and it's not fun.

If there aren't a lot of hairs, I'd recommend plucking over shaving as it'll look better. If you have a lot then you might want to consider waxing them. Keep in mind that if you decide to try either one, the first time you do it, it will hurt the worst. After that it won't hurt as much if you keep up with them as they show up. This is because the first time the hairs have been growing for a while and their roots have had time to strengthen. If you thereafter catch hairs when they're new and their roots are small and weak, it won't hurt as much. While neither plucking nor waxing will ever feel good or be "fun", it's not so bad after you've done it a few times.

Of course, I could be wrong.

But, assuming you want to look "hairless" there, I'd suggest at least trying one or the other rather than shaving since it'll look much nicer.

I pluck the strays off mine..cos my hair is very dark too. Works for me, doesn't hurt too much, and my bf prefers my breasts smooth. So that'd be my advice.
