datleinad Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I'm just not in tune with the world. I try to go out and be active, I'm taking a bunch of classes, but so far that's the only thing I feel comfortable with. I get nervous thinking about joining clubs or volunteering. And most just ain't my thing. I'd consider something if I knew someone doing it, but not going alone. I just don't like going to things alone, that's why I go to school to meet people so that I can go do things and not have to show up alone and awkward. But it's rough.. where else can I meet people that's LIKE school? I'm sooo comfortable with school settings, the dynamics, atmoshpere, everything. No pressure to talk, you can take your time, feel people out, and you have 16 weeks to do it. And if you don't feel comfortable, there's an escape. Just sit alone, or drop. What else can I go to meet people that's like this?
CailinPig Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 the only thing i can think of is to enroll in either a fulltime or part time college course. Or even take an academic class somewhere. Everyone's new to those things. And most people go alone too!
Suiyobi Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 You could probably try the mall although it obviously won't be as quiet as compared to a school setting, or even the library for that matter.
