Lauriebell82 Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Hey everyone, haven't been around lately because I'm so busy with my new job. I love it though! My boyfriend and I moved into our apartment and we love it!!! We are getting along and everything is wonderful! I did have a little issue that we are dealing with, it's minor. We are noticing that our apartment is getting more cluttered/messed up with two of us living there. Prior to moving in together we would only stay together on the weekends and things got a little messed up, but since one of us would be living out of a suitcase things were kept pretty much in tact. My boyfriend is VERY OCD, so messes drive him up the wall. So I guess my question is how does everyone who lives together avoid cluttering/messing up their apartment? Do you have a cleaning system? I'm just trying to get an idea of how we can work together to try and keep our apartment nice.
sweetbutcheeky Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 Your combining your things but if you organize and find a spot for things, put things away then there shouldn't be a problem no matter if your living alone with someone. (I have lived with a ex bf before for 4 years) Maybe the problem is that you have too much stuff for the size of the apartment? I would suggest going threw your things and getting rid of things you don't need, wear or like anymore (I did this when I moved in the last year). Invest in furniture, which is also storage like foot stools/coffee tables which have a lid with storage inside, under the bed storage containers, shelves that get things up and off the floor or tables, closet organizers and so on.
