HeartOnSleeve Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Leona Lewis- Spirit John Mayer - Continuum There are just some great songs on it, that I listen to daily to get through missing my ex and especially since I just saw him an hour ago and thought I was going to die or vomit! Enjoy! HOS
Tabatha Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 OMG! I relate to Bleeding Love "I don't care what they say I'm in Love with you They try to pull me away But they don't know the Truth..." and "Trying hard not to Hear but the talk so loud Their Piercing sounds fill my ears try to fill me with doubt Yet I know that the goal is to keep me from falling" That just mirrors my ex boyfriend and My relationship against my Family.
motive2002 Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Been listening to Beck's "Sea Change" a lot. It's a sad, break-up album. Not sure if I'd recommend it to everyone. He hits it home like no other. It's a vast difference from his usual non-sensical, sample laden goofy stuff he usually does. Written for his girlfriend of 8 years that broke up with him. His dad did the string arrangements for him. Some samples: "I guess I'm doing fine" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oj5EvUTyi7Q "Lonesome Tears" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E595sC81ZHQ "Lost Cause" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GNcpuQePPA "Round the Bend" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6p0Ck7z8LKE
kizik Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Guys, excellent suggestions. Thanks so much. Motive, I will pick up Sea Change ASAP. I f*cking love Beck. HOS- John Mayer's Continuum truly is a great disc. The best track is def. "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room". The title itself is a great analogy for drifting along in a doomed relationship. Just picked up the new Death Cab album, Narrow Stairs. There are some great break-up/love lost songs on that disc. Ben Gibbard has a really unique insight into love, and lack of love.
v33 Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Feist's album "Let It Die" It might not cheer you up but the girl can sure sing about love and loss. "The saddest part of a broken heart, Isn't the ending, so much as the start The tragedy starts from the very first spark, Losing your mind for the sake of your heart."
