spookie Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 It's amazing. You can justify liking someone nice and smart and funny a thousand different ways, but unless you have the right chemistry, it means nothing. For the first time since meeting my ex four years ago, I feel that draw to someone. I get tongue-tied looking in his eyes when I'm around him it feels (to me) like we're magnets. What can I do? The situation is this: we're both interns at the same company, in different departments, and we live next door to each other in a hotel. The four of us (me, my roommate, him, and his) are pretty tight - we do everything together - so we're around each other nearly 24/7. It seems like when we're drunk together, there's a lot of hand-grazing, but that's as far as we've gotten. How can I figure out for sure if he likes me to make a move, or encourage him to do so? Tonight we're going bowling and then my roommate is going off to sleep at her boyfriend's. If something were to happen, the conditions would be just right.
Author spookie Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 You could put your hand on his penis. Lol. How awkward would that be if he didn't even like me?
tanbark813 Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Lol. How awkward would that be if he didn't even like me? Well if he doesn't that might change his mind.
carhill Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Don't know too many guys who would find a woman's hand on their penis to be "awkward".
2sunny Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 You could put your hand on his penis. :lmao: that would most likely show him that she's interested - but something a bit more subtle and classy might be a better approach. why not try an honest compliment? he'll see that as a green light if he's interested enough.
stillafool Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Chances are if you feel it he does too. If you guys go out for drinks you could wait until your gf leaves and then kiss him, pull away quickly and say "I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself."
carhill Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Seriously, what you're describing can be a beginning. I can sit here and type these words with just a bit of a tremble in my hand, the effects of such "chemistry" that came to me a couple decades ago. It's still there. Don't squander it. For some of us, it only happens once in our lifetime. Do what comes naturally and trust that your instincts are sound.

Trialbyfire Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 There's nothing like explosive chemistry! Get in his personal space by touching him lightly on the arm, leg, etc. Flirt with your eyes, what you say and lean into him. You'll know if it's mutual by his...response.

2sunny Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 sheeeez, you guys are feisty today eh? in a good way - of course!
Author spookie Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 Haha. I've been fantasizing about touching him all day long at work today. This entire week I've spent the days daydreaming and the evenings flirting with him. It's almost driving me crazy, but in a good way. If we didn't work AND live together AND have all the same friends this summer I'd have gone for it already. As it is, I want to make sure this is the beginning of something special, not just another experiment in self-destruction and bridge-burning. Three pairs of this company's previous interns are now married.
Author spookie Posted June 6, 2008 Author Posted June 6, 2008 What's really amazing to me is how different he is from my usual "type" aka the guys I've gone after since my ex and I broke up a year ago who resembled him, both in looks and personality; and how easy it is to think outside the box once a good example is presented to you.
Untouchable_Fire Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Three pairs of this company's previous interns are now married. Slow down there turbo!

Another great post that gets straight to the nub of the matter by LoveShack's love doctor extraordinaire. I am incredibly impressed, but by no means surprised. Anyway, I'm sure he's into you. That's a given. The only question in my mind is whether he's competent in the gifted art of anal pleasuring. I guess we'll soon find out. I would hate to think that you would settle for anybody that couldn't deliver you, on a regular basis, at least one of the very finest experiences that life has to offer. Congratulations on your new spark.

I don't think it'd be a good idea for me to have kids that soon.
Author spookie Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 I'm getting kinda nervous about making a fool of myself coming on to him when we're bowling drunk. Or making a fool of myself in general, though it'd be hard to top what I did the last time we went bolwing: I threw a ball into the wrong lane and ran after it, setting off an alarm and falling flat on my face on the oiled floor.
2sunny Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 if you really want it to be a great evening and one you'll enjoy - you may want to consider having a reasonable amount of drinks to you can remember the fun...

I considered that but decided I'd be better off polishing the bottle of vodka chillin in my freezer for extra confidence.
johan Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 To be honest, Spookie, I always thought we had that kind of chemistry
Author spookie Posted June 7, 2008 Author Posted June 7, 2008 To be honest, Spookie, I always thought we had that kind of chemistry :D:D Me too, Johan.
johan Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 Oh well... I guess I'll just have to have it all by myself. Seems like you dig insurance guys. I'm not an insurance guy, I know that. I'll never be that cool.
