sarki08 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 ok here goes... i'm 18 and i've recently been chatting to a 26 year old online via facebook but now we have each others numbers and chat regularly.. I'm mature for my age and i'm a sensible girl so i don't usually do this kinda thing and i have been wary but i want to meet this guy.. I know what your all thinkin,, he's just preying on me but honest thats not what it's about.. He has done none but treat me with the upmost respect, offering to pay my flight down (i live in scotland and him in devon) , offering to put me up in a hotel, its not about sex or anything. it's just us meeting up. we get on really well. laugh together alot, i wouldnt be thinking about meeting him if i didnt think it would be ok, it's just how to tell my parents that im worrying about... how do i bring something like this up? i'm very much under the belief that age doesn't matter, it's just a number, it's personality that counts.. and yes i know it's him, we have been on webcam and he has shown me his passport.. he even offered to speak to my mum on the phone and said he doesn't want me to come down if she's not ok with it.. so to me, he seems really genuine, and to me, it's not different than us meeting in a bar or something.. just, how do i bring it up with my mum? any ideas? ...

Your folks will probably want to meet him, I would just tell them. When I was 25 I dated a 19 year old. Her parents loved me, I actually grew quite attached to her family.
george1122 Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Just to protect yourself, don't have sex for 3 months after you see him. If he really likes you, he will be with you for 3 months, it will be confirmed that he is a genuine and nice guy.
