Prodigal Princess Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I was suppose to meet this guy for drinks on Saturday night (a first date, ) . Anyway, I got stuck in a different city on business and couldn't make it back in time. I let him know I was stuck at work, and suggested we meet on Sunday evening instead. He said that he was busy on Sunday evening, and asked whether I was free on Tues or Wed evening instead. I sent him a text saying "I'm free on Tuesday, anytime after 7." This all happened on Saturday afternoon. Well now it is Monday afternoon and I haven't heard back from him. Im paranoid that he didn't get my last text suggesting Tues, but then again he could just be planning on confirming the details tonight or tomorrow. I am a massive control freak and planner, and am feeling anxious about whether or not we'll be having drinks tomorrow night. It also affects whether or not I have to blow dry my hair and look halfway decent tomorrow. Girls and Nemo, you understand. Do you think I should text him tonight and ask if we're still on for tomorrow? This could reek of desperation. The alternative is to assume its on, spend the time to look kick-arse for tomorrow and sit tight hoping to hear from him. (The problem with the latter is that if I do that, and I dont hear from him, I'll fly into an internal rage, from which I wont recover for a good 4 days.) Thoughts?
Nemo Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Do you think I should text him tonight and ask if we're still on for tomorrow? Yes. This could reek of desperation. He will be laughing with all his buddies down the pub. "Hahahahaha... she sent me two texts in a row!!!!" Well, assuming he got the first one. Technology ain't perfect.

Im paranoid that he didn't get my last text suggesting Tues, but then again he could just be planning on confirming the details tonight or tomorrow.I would assume he can't make it. You two didn't actually plan the meeting together, you simply made a suggestion and he hasn't responded for whatever reason. You should still blow dry your hair and look fabulous! Never know what the day might bring...
DunnoWhat Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Just ask him is it still on and say you want to change the time by 10 mins or some other little excuse.. Can I ask you a question: Do you like him more now that he doesn't text back much or if he was texting you alot?
Author Prodigal Princess Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Hey everyone, thanks for the replies! I took your advice and texted him last night - it turns out that there is a problem with my phone, as he didnt get that msg until this morning. Anyway, so we are meeting up tonight. Im pretty unimpressed at his lack of initiative so far but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and we'll see what kind of effort he makes tonight. These inital missteps are kind of good actually - Im usually a nervous wreck before dates but now Im not as keen, so I'll go in there more relaxed. One more thing - I'll have to meet him straight after work. Is it a turn off for a chick to turn up to a date in a suit?
Author Prodigal Princess Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 Can I ask you a question: Do you like him more now that he doesn't text back much or if he was texting you alot? There's a fine line... Of course I would be turned off if he was texting a lot, but at the same time I was supremely irate that I had to chase him up about the date. I'm getting the vibe that he's a typical bloke, flying by the seat of his pants. Dammit.
Nemo Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 One more thing - I'll have to meet him straight after work. Is it a turn off for a chick to turn up to a date in a suit? Not if it's your birthday suit.
tanbark813 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 One more thing - I'll have to meet him straight after work. Is it a turn off for a chick to turn up to a date in a suit? Not as long as you undo a couple buttons on your shirt.
Nemo Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Not as long as you undo a couple buttons on your shirt. This man knows what he is talking about.
ItalianLove59 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 I think you should text him and ask him if you guys are on for tomorrow. It wouldn't hurt. Whats the worst he can say..No ?
ABrokenWing Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If you have his phone number call him. Why wouldn't you just call?
