Author bernie888 Posted June 10, 2008 Author Posted June 10, 2008 Yep, I agree with you in that I have many single male friends / acquantainces and very few single female friends and for the most part those few are just single because they are EXTREMELY picky and a guy has to meet 50 things on their mental list before they'd consider dating them. true, circumstances and timing are a big factor for sure. I think chosen career and social circles are also huge contributing factors. I've worked in Oil, Finance and IT - ALL of them very male dominated professions so thats always been a challenge as a lot of people do seem to be their significant other through work or friends. Take those 2 scenarios out of the equation and then the needle in the haystack thing comes right back at ya But you know, all is not lost. There is always the monastery I could join Oh okay. Yeah true. Probably about 3/5 to 2/3 of the dudes I know are single. As far as the girls, most of them are taken. You have to wonder how much does luck factor in when you're looking for a girl. I mean, you make your own luck by the things that you do but then you got circumstances that are beyond your control (She's already taken, she just broke up and need some time etc.).

When it comes to the social circles part, in my case it definitely decreases your chances when 1) your circle of friends is the circle you formed when you go to a boys' school and 2), we're on the geeky side of things. Now that I'm at university, I'm working on it by building social circles that have girls in them so that they can introduce me to their friends or who knows, be interested in me themselves. But you know, all is not lost. There is always the monastery I could join And is this monastery in real life or on porn?

It may be true for some but I've been least expecting it for most of my 38 years and that didnt help, lol! But yes, serendipity may strike one day! i find when you least expect it someone becomes intresrested in you, its cliched i know, but i think it has happend to me. I just have to find this girl around my school to have a conversation with her.
