I'm new here and am currently separated from my husband of 8 months. We separated because we couldn't seem to compromise and got into a fight. Then I caught him with another woman at a bar. He claims that nothing happened with her. But this caused me to pack up my things and leave. I took my 19 month old son and went to stay with my parents. We started to try and work things out but have been having a hard time compromising on things. My parents, mainly my mom, doesn't think I should try to work it out. She feels that I should just divorce him and go for custody of our unborn child. I don't feel the same way. But she makes it seem like if I try to work it out then I will be losing my family because they are upset with him for the things he has done and she doesn't feel he is fit to be a father. My husband and I want to try to work things out. But I can't seem to figure out how to talk to my parents about it. I tried last night to tell my mother and she pretty much stormed off. I guess I don't know what else to do. Has anyone else every been in a position like this?

Any advice will be great. Thank you.
