D-Lish Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 1) The Shining 2) Jaws 3) Halloween 4) 13 Ghosts Hey- as far as I am concerned, I'd rather cry because I crapped my pants- and not because I want to be reminded how sad I am.

Actually I think any Woody Allen dramatic comedy or straight comedy would work. I personally loved Crimes and Misdemeanors. but here is a short list of my faves after heartache. Napoleon Dynamite What about Bob? Fargo Pulp Fiction
Far Behind Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 I love Play it again, Sam. Actually I think any Woody Allen dramatic comedy or straight comedy would work. I personally loved Crimes and Misdemeanors. but here is a short list of my faves after heartache. Napoleon Dynamite What about Bob? Fargo Pulp Fiction Pulp Fiction rocks!!!! One of my all time favorite movies, and I've seen it countless numbers of times. What About Bob is hilarious. And I love Woody Allen, my favorite is Annie Hall.
motive2002 Posted May 30, 2008 Posted May 30, 2008 Tealeaf, the first time I laughed out loud after the break-up was watching Napoleon Dynamite. Good recommendation. I needed all of those laughs. It really is the best medicine.
LikeCharlotte Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Swingers The Lonely Guy The Jerk You like Steve Martin! "I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days. The first day seemed like a week and the second day seemed like five days. And the third day seemed like a week again and the fourth day seemed like eight days. And the fifth day you went to see your mother and that seemed just like a day, and then you came back and later on the sixth day, in the evening, when we saw each other, that started seeming like two days, so in the evening it seemed like two days spilling over into the next day and that started seeming like four days, so at the end of the sixth day on into the seventh day, it seemed like a total of five days. And the sixth day seemed like a week and a half. I have it written down, but I can show it to you tomorrow if you want to see it. " - from The Jerk I love that bit!

motive2002 Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Our first night together we saw Housesitter on the hotel's cable TV thing, so that one's out. Well we didn't really watch most of it, if you know what I mean Steve Martin still rules though. The Lonely Guy is classic. Haven't seen that one in years!
Lookingforward Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 definitely Eternal Sunshine, but also Love Stinks and any good scifi

LikeCharlotte Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 And I can't believe nobody has mentioned the best breakup movie ever, Shaun of the Dead. What's wrong with you people? High Fidelity (best by far)True Romance (You're so cool)Shaun of the Dead (When your love has left you in the middle of a zombie attack)Eternal Sunshine (Some people are going to be together no matter what - Hope)Secretary (if i have to explain this you don't get it, so don't watch it)Amélie (even the incredibly weird and shy can meet someone)The Jerk (ditto on this one)What Dreams May come (Hope again)Donnie Darko (it is an interesting comment on destiny and choice)Say Anything (first love. awwww.)Dangerous Liaisons (cheating & lying? this is perfect) You can't beat a happy ending when you are sad. I know lots of these are repeats but it can't hurt to recommend them twice.
Nemo Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Does anybody here not like John Cusack??!! He has such a cute arse.
