Author spookie Posted June 3, 2008 Author Posted June 3, 2008 Exactly. I am impressed that Spookie is so open about this, it is never a great idea to start out relationships with lies. But, these guys clearly have no respect for her because they are horny, bored, over-worked bland men. So ignore the pigs, do not drink on the job, social or otherwise, and work your little bum off. If you don't give them cause to gossip or be sleazes, it will stop. Yah, that's what I figure. Also, I know that whether they respect me or not, I have my own agenda (to gain experience, so I can land a better permanent full-time position, at this company or elsewhere) so I'm not too bothered by what anyone thinks of me personally, as long as I'm getting what I need and what was promised. I'm not ashamed of having been a stripper. If anything, I think it taught me to see through the hypocrisy of the "working" middle-class. I'm just surprised that they'd take me into their allegedly "prestigious" program only to treat me like a stupid s!ut (not that everyone has been doing this). It seems really unprofessional and self-defeating, even to me. Oh... and these people I work with could drink a lot of the strippers I know under the table.
Lookingforward Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I doubt these creeps were the ones that "allowed" you into the program spooks - just that these guys are looking on you as a juicy plum dropped into their laps so to speak - all their salacious fantasies are coming to life in the flesh LOL Just remember that HR hired you, not them - and if they cross the line too much you still have recourse re workplace harassment. As long as you conduct yourself professionally, they are the ones that will end up looking like the twits they are. Laying off the alcohol around them may help however.
