kizik Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 And I didn't feel awful. The memories of times I had with my ex were just that- memories. I don't feel sad right now, at this moment, and that's all I can ask for. I hope this moment lasts, though I doubt it will. But that's OK. It's nice to have a minute, or an hour, "off" from the pain. -k
Nevermind Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 That's great kizik. Enjoy it! And don't think about it too much, if you're waiting for the moment to be over, you're wasting it. Take a deep breath, cherish the peace you have right now. It will give you strength. Best, NM
Author kizik Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 That's some great advice, NM. Thanks. Keep your head up, you rock! k
Rich464 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 That's a very good sign A good sign that your healing. And the best news? its going to happen more often, and last longer each time. Its been a while since my breakup now, almost 4 months and I'm happy to say I have a lot more 'time off' from my pain than I do hurting from it. Thats excellent news! keep your head up
Author kizik Posted May 27, 2008 Author Posted May 27, 2008 Thanx for the encouragement, Rich. 4 months!!! Jesus Christ, I've got 3 weeks. It's only been a week of NC. Ouch. But you're right, pain-free moments will last longer and I cannot WAIT.
0hpenelope Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 That's really good to hear! A welcomed respite from that pain, I would say. You seem resigned that the good feelings aren't going to last. Recovery's a long road; most of us are still walking it. But now you can look back and say "You know, you had a good day. I bet you'll have another one." Positives are always good. Good for you!
