BiAxident Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 1) I am grateful that I don't have to worry about my next meal or the roof over my head. 2) I am grateful for the internet and all the other electronic wonders that help distract and entertain me on a daily basis!
kizik Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 I'm grateful for being a caring, insightful, intelligent, good-looking, talented individual. Yeah I know that's very self-serving, but you know what? No one else is telling me that sh*t. And my ex didn't for the last, oh, year of dating me.

This thread, however, is about focusing on the positive! Now.. come back with some things you are grateful for that dont involve your ex!

sunshinegirl Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I am grateful that I have so many close friends in my life who are helping me through this time - I can think of 10 off the top of my head. They all love me and think I'm great - and I need them like I've never needed them before.
Grace112 Posted May 27, 2008 Posted May 27, 2008 I am grateful for my family, my health, my hope for the future, and everything else that makes me smile.
Trialbyfire Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I will be grateful when dinner comes out of the oven. Soooo hunnngggryyy! Beyond that, I'm pretty much grateful for my life, be it people, place or thing. Sure it's not perfect but I'm very, very glad I don't live in a third world country or a country where freedoms are reliant on gender.
Lizzie60 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I am soooo grateful to be sooo perfect.. I am grateful to have no financial worries.. I am grateful to be healthy.. I am grateful to have wonderful kids.. I am grateful to have a perfect grand-daughter.. I am grateful for having this perfect life.. I am grateful to be soooo happy... it's almost scary.
Trialbyfire Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I'm also grateful I don't have NPD. What a scary disorder.

I ask b/c I too want to SOMEday have friends.
sunshinegirl Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 I am so jealous of you. How old are you Sun, if you don't mind me asking? I ask b/c I too want to SOMEday have friends. Hi Kizik. I'm 34. While I seem to strike out in the romance department with regular frequency, I have never really had trouble making friends. I am having 7 close girlfriends over next weekend for a "new start" party to help me move on. They've been great so far, really patient with me while I vent and process and generally act like a wet blanket. Actually, so has an old boyfriend - the guy I dated before this ex. We have remained friends and he just spent 45 mins on the phone with me letting me talk through this one. Are you saying you don't have any friends? Really? Who do you bump into in the course of your daily life? Surely you encounter people you could get to know...?
LikeCharlotte Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 for my friends who endured this silly tragedy with good humor and backboneespecially R. for being extra awesome in every capacity (sorry I can not write that out)that I am consistently validated by the people who love methat I have talentthat I am healedthat it is warm outsidefor crayons and starsthat I survivedthat I am strong
LikeCharlotte Posted May 29, 2008 Posted May 29, 2008 I forgot to add this I can walk to everywhere I need to be and I don't spend much on gas!
Touche Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 I'm grateful that I survived the bad times and made it to the "other side." Because if I hadn't, I probably wouldn't have had anything to feel grateful for. (Not saying that's right, but it's just me.) I'm grateful for my wonderful, loving, loyal husband and best friend. I'm grateful for my sweet, funny and gorgeous son. I'm grateful that my mom and I are getting along great again. I'm grateful for never having gotten bitter and negative about men. Had I allowed myself that kind of stupid indulgence there's no way in hell I would have met the fine caliber of a man like my H. No way. Good men run from bitter, negative women. I'm grateful for all the blessings in my life. And I'm especially grateful that there are so many.
