Something for the Poets.

Recommended Posts

Now that my days are almost done

the things I coveted when I was young

now as inaccessible as my youth

unfulfulled desires

prevent my ageing gracefully

Some, I recall, others

nudge a memory or two

the treehouse that I never owned

the bike that I just never rode

in school I'd feel sublime

so sure I'd be a poet

or a scholar of some kind

always with my head in clouds

and feet an inch or two above the ground

now I drag my feet

in worn-out slippers of defeat

I prowl the premises at night

stumbling on the ghosts

of a memory or two

of things that never came to pass

a crib death of a kind

one never speaks about

No, now I am just

speaking in reflex Haiku.

That happens sometimes.

Pretentiously dumb.

That is a new Pink Floyd Song.

Turn on the black light.

I think this shall be

my last time

to spew out

my enmity

hate

towards you

You

with your

silly little ideals

how despicable

voices hardly irritates

as much as yours

You're nearly faceless

I'm beaming

you're almost forgotten.

and after the death of myself

i gathered the courage to return

with my veil no longer effective

astounding who comes about

all is welcome

those sounds of footsteps

heard in the dusty distance

are they of survivors?

or is it something worse...

i don't like the night

not in times like these
