Well, back from the weekend!

They were just as Ozzie and Harriet as I expected, and the entire extended family was delightful. Fun, salt of the earth, hard-working Americans. :)

It all went well, and you could tell his family was trying to flatter me. His sisters would say things like how they have never seen him so happy , his brother said things like he was going to try and steal me, etc.

BUT, after the big brunch on SUN, Dad and I were talking about being green (which is interesting, because I told him I have no desire to be green and am buying a second car that gets 8 miles to the gallon), and he bursts out, "Baller, you should MARRY this one! Seriously!". To which Mom quickly chimed in, "I have to agree. Not to put you on the spot, Jilly, but you're perfect for Baller."

gulp.

Baller turned BRIGHT red, something I have NEVER seen him do, and then said, "Jilly, please meet my parents. They lack every social subtely imaginable."

So, now his folks looked wounded, so I thought I'd lighten it a bit, though I was feeling worse in that moment for him, since he seemed so mortified.

So, I said, "well, if you throw in the dog, I'll consider it." (they have the most amazing lab I've ever met.)

Everyone laughed, and moved on. But then Baller seemed a little distant to a degree for the rest of the day. Can't blame him, I suppose.

We got home this morning and when he dropped me off, he said, "Thanks for tolerating my parents so well. They can be a bit much with the things they say, and well, you know."

Yeah, I did... ;)
