mistieyed Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 text messages seem to have become the way to communicate in relationships these days - is it easier for you guys to communicate your feelings this way? or am I missing the train on this one?

Depends what you mean by feelings. If its something important or sendimental, I will call her or talk to her in person. Anything else can be communicated via text messaging.
Skies Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Thought it is a substitute of emails...or a shorter form of emails...can hide a lot of emotions.

I find that whenever I am calling a girl for the first time (beginning stages) ..I first start with a text message, and then I call her. Edited April 5, 2008 by FormerNiceGuy
Replicant Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 text messages seem to have become the way to communicate in relationships these days - is it easier for you guys to communicate your feelings this way? or am I missing the train on this one? If one has to communicate their feelings via abbreviations and one liners through text messaging, i would call that complete laziness. Continual use of that train is just going to lead to a breakdown...of proper communication.
stillafool Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 If someone really likes you they are not going to be content with texting you. They will want to hear your voice and will call you.
Tyra Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I never been the type to communicate with my man using text messaging. It's unnecessary and point blank lazy. For some, its easier to text, because they have trouble verbally communicating with people.
carhill Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 I never text and can type 90wpm, as my proliferation of posts on LS is testament to. Relationships demand aural and visual stimulation, IMO. Pixels on a screen are nice for cold data, but lousy for emotions. My wife, OTOH, has a completely different opinion
