HokeyReligions Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I just need to vent. The office is moving on Friday. Several projects for this one client are moving into a new building. I lost one person today - she was moved to a different project so I'm short on help. My other person called in sick -- again. She's not been all that much help anyway - even when I go to her desk and tell her to come on and help. She will for a few minutes but then finds an excuse to leave. Sometimes its the client who is calling her back and he's doing this just to screw up my company - I've ranted about him before. In the meantime, everything has fallen on me. Not only do I have to do my regular work, but I have to do this other girl's work when she's out and all deadlines must be met. I worked late tonight - the he11 with them saying it must be done in 40 hours/wk only. I actually have my department managers coming tomorrow to pack for me! The "head" manager is also going to do an official write-up of the absentee girl and one other in another department I've had problems with. There are just not enough hours in the day. The woman that left the project today worked with me yesterdday and we packed one file room ourselves because there just isn't the manpower to help us. I've got engineers offering to help on Friday. Our secretary is overwhelmed because she has to pack all the common areas and file rooms (with the exception of two of mine which I wouldn't trust her with) so I can't recruit her to help. I am so sick of the attitude of one of the client representatives too! She's is just acting so superior and made a snarky remark about how she has NEVER worked anywhere that didn't put the client in large offices with windows! How horrible! She makes it sound like my company is worthless and she can't understand why the client hired us. Beotch. She does the same work I do, just on the client side. That said, last week the department manager had to fire three people on another project - two for having sex in a cubicle and one for drug use off the job, but still was working with the drugs in his system. We may lose a couple more soon after the discussions tomorrow! Its sad, but I'm tired of the BS - my company is flexible and compassionate to a point, but not when it is a detriment to the operation of the company and the progress of the project.
