AppleV Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I know that sounds like an obvious question but seriously, is it considered a PA when theres just kissing involved? Does it become a PA as soon as physical intimate contact has been established? even if that physical contact is a kiss? Or is it only a PA once you have actually consumated the affair? Surely then, the definitions of PA's and EA's differ depending on someones opinion.... whats yours?
HeavenScent Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Kissing another person is a physical thing. It's a PA. Yip. You're in a PA.

Owl Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 What does it matter? Its all cheating...its all an affair. It doesn't matter if you call it an EA, PA, or Snuffaluffaguss. And when you're asked to provide details to your betrayed spouse, don't try to pick labels. Give the information that they ask for without labels or adjectives. Make sense?

IMO, if the intent is intimate and sexual, PA, and, in the case of casual physical contact like kissing and hugging, the burden is upon the person initiating the contact to examine their feelings and decide appropriately. I've hugged/kissed enough guys to know the difference (I'm a guy) I've also done the same with plenty of ladies with no intimate or sexual intent.
Author AppleV Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 No I suppose it doesnt matter, it is still a betrayal of your spouse after all. Both EA and PA come up alot on this forum, so obvioulsy there is alot of people out there who think there is a difference between the 2. I just wanted to clarify my own situation - PA then I guess.

In some ways I think that pure EAs are potentially more devastating to a marriage than PAs because of the feelings involved. However, once the flirting, e-mailing, texting, calling crosses over to physical touching of any kind I would classify it as a PA. If it's proceeded by an EA then you end up with a full-blown affair! Time to tell the other party and let them go to find someone who can and wants to be faithful. It's the final kindness you can do them.
