loveinlife Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 This morning i dreamed about my ex having sex with another man. She looked confused mentally(in reality i think she is confused because her father passed away a few months ago and later on she told me to move on). ok back to the dream, she was having sex with this guy that i saw with her at the clubs a few weeks ago. I was disturbed when i woke up. Anyone had dreams about their exes? Ever since she told me to move on, i am trying to move on, its been a week.
0hpenelope Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Twice already. Once, 2 weeks ago; once, last week. I dreamed that he had gotten with a girl. I was crushed. But now, I'm fine. Whether or not it's an "omen" of something that's going to come/that's happening right now or it's a dream of my worries, I can't think like that on that dream. I'd like to just chalk it up to missing him. As ever.
MalachiX Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I dreamed of my girlfriend of 2 1/2 years the whole time we were together. At first, they were anxiety dreams that I'd mess the relationship up and then just became plain old dreams of us just doing stuff together. It always used to make me happy when I'd dream about her as it let me know what an important part of my life she was. We broke up about six weeks ago. Since then, there have been more dreams and they havn't been pleasant ones. I havn't dreamed anything as explicit as her having sex with someone else but I have had dreams of trying to get her back and almost succeeding only to have her run off with another guy. The WORST of the dreams was one I had about three weeks ago. In the dream, we both find ourselves as teachers at the same school. At first we try to avoid each other but eventually we can't take it. We come face to face, I say, "I'm sorry I didn't treat you like you deserved," and she says "No, you treated me like a princess. I'm sorry too." We then fall into each other's arms and all is right in the world. Then I woke up alone and wanted to die. For the first time since I was a kid I was afraid to go to sleep again for fear of more dreams. Still, it's gotten better since then. I think I only had one more, not so bad, one after that.
mark982 Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 i can honestly saw i have NEVER had dreams of my ex-wife. ex- girlfriends yes.maybe it's cause it was such a nasty divorce that i got burnt into my subconsious
Mouldylocks Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I frequently dream about him. Very vivid, very realistic dreams - and not one of them bad. In each and every one, he comes back to me, tells me he's made a huge mistake, that he loves me and wants me back. He cries, I hold him. Then I wake up alone. What fun......
sumdude Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Just a couple... one was nightmarinsh the other a brain tweaker.. We were having sex... and suddenly she stopped, covered up and said "This is bad!" That's when I woke up... ugh....
LuCidiTy Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I frequently dream about him. Very vivid, very realistic dreams - and not one of them bad. In each and every one, he comes back to me, tells me he's made a huge mistake, that he loves me and wants me back. He cries, I hold him. Then I wake up alone. What fun...... same. kinda recurring. almost too realistic to call dreams. the other recurring one i get is his sister contacting me frantically on his IM asking me to help him. ugh.
Galexia Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I have had frequent dreams of my ex over the last 5 years. usually, they are dreams of him and his soon to be exwife and how I'm still trying to fight for him and win him back. The dreams ceased a bit over the last 2 years, but every once in a while, they come back. Now he has re entered my life only to tell me his wife is leaving him so I anticiapte more dreams. I do hope that one day i'll actually get back together with him. I have had sex dreams about him too. and some really vivid ones with Matthew Maconohey...those are ALWAYS wonderful
Chinook Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Yep. Frequently. We split 4 years ago and I still dream about him. Dreams are just your brain's way of sorting through things.
Rooster_DAR Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 Same here, it's been two years since my breakup and get them frequently still.
Author loveinlife Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 lots of interesting responses. I just had another dream, two days in a roll =O. i ussually don't dream and this in this new one, she told me she has a new boy friend. sucky event that i didn't want to hear. but i guess its nothing i can control since its in my subconscious. how are you guys doing with your dream?
sedgwick Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 All the time. Sucks. ps: it's two days in a ROW, not in a ROLL. this has been sedgwick's grammar police raid.
Chinook Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I can't tell you my dreams because (a) they're too painful to recall in detail and they'd make you all cry and (b) they fade pretty quickly anyhow. So I just choose to accept that uncomfortable feeling I get when I wake up and then I spend the rest of the day putting distance between me and it.
MalachiX Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 how are you guys doing with your dream? Debating trying to take a drill to my head to bore them out. You?

Haven't had one since the 2nd one. It feels darn good to finally want to sleep! I want my brain for more productive uses like memorizing anatomical terms and whatnot.
onmyownagain Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I dreamt about my STBXW last night. Dreamt she had a boyfriend and they were together and I was with them. Can't remember any more than that but has meant shes been on my mind all day today.
sedona Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 I dreamed that I was debating with myself whether to text my ex "I miss you". In my dream, I considered what good it could possibly do (none) and what harm it could possibly do (set me back from NC 14 to NC 0, crush me when I get no response). So I didn't do it. But then I woke up and have been spending the day not calling him.
Ofleg7 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Dreamt is the only word in the english language that ends in mt... nice little fact. Anyway um, I'm sure I've dreamt about the ex quite a bit, but I never remember my dreams.. I know some people write them down as soon as they wake up, but that seems a little.. pointless/obssessive. I know i've been having a lot of vivid dreams recently because I've been sleeping in several different beds (alone ) and that's been affecting my sleep. Do many of you know about lucid dreaming? I think it would be a pretty bad thing in our situations
Trialbyfire Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Yes, I used to dream about my ex-H, after D-day. If he knew about them, he wouldn't be happy, since they were primarily harmful to him. I suppose my dreams reflect reality...
sedona Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Dreamt is the only word in the english language that ends in mt... nice little fact. In British English, yes. In American English, the past participle of "dream" takes the normal "-ed" ending. Same with a bunch of other verbs like "spell". One of the many differences between the British and American dialects of English.
beta Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 i dream about him almost every single night! (it's been a month since the breakup) sometimes sexual, sometimes not. Just always in my thoughts ...
Ofleg7 Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 In American English, the past participle of "dream" takes the normal "-ed" ending.. Ah, I did not know that, I just thought people who said dreamed were wrong.
beta Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 the other night, i dreamed we were doing laundry! He was folding, i was putting a load in.... just missing him!
sedona Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Ah, I did not know that, I just thought people who said dreamed were wrong. There are more than 300 million Americans. We can't all be wrong! If you know what to look for and have enough text to go by, then you can usually tell where a person is from by how they spell certain words, their choice of vocabulary, and their grammar. And if English isn't their first language, then you can usually tell where they're from based on the types of mistakes they make. Sorry, just a bit off-topic. Couldn't pass up on the temptation
