Tomorrow im going to my new girl friends house, and she is cooking dinner for me. I remember she asked me if I ever saw the notebook and I said no. I figured I could rent it for us.

Are there any other better ideas?

I was actually going to recommend The Notebook! Ha!

When my Ex and I first started dating, he made me dinner and rented that movie. He had never seen it, and really (honestly) enjoyed it (and he's a macho man). He scored huge, HUGE points by watching a romantic flick with me. :)

I wouldn't want to watch that movie with someone I had just started dating. It makes me bawl, and I've watched it dozens of times.

Really. Watch something cool. Like Sin City or Starship Troopers

I love The Notebook. I cried twice watching it....

Another film I recommend is A Walk To Remember.

 Ugh the notebook. The most dreaded of sappy movies for me  Not to mention, she has probably already seen it 100 millions times (sure feels that way to me, and I can't stand it :p).

I'd suggest I Am Legend in retaliation. That'll freak the crap out of her

I am such a girly girl and I bawled during the both the Notebook and A Walk to Remember. They are great movies, but I don't know if I would recommend either of those for a date movie.

I'd recommend something good and heartwarming but not too mushy.

Like maybe Little Miss Sunshine?

How about The Shipping News? :)

Has Julianne Moore, Judi Dench, Cate Blanchet, and Kevin Spacey.

I'd bet you would like a REAL suave movie, wouldn't you Morganstern?

Here is a link to a critic's take on third date movies and what they say about you: http://www.pajiba.com/pajibas-guide-to-thirddate-flicks.htm

That's a great guide (the link is a little messed up, but just fix it up in your browser - it's got an extra "//http" in there...)

I love the suggestion for Almost Famous. I'd use that one any day.

Risky Business is another interesting movie for a date... ;)

Platoon!

nothing like a good war movie.

Im not really into chick flicks (though The Notebook was a total tear jerker, and IMO, too romantic for an early date).

I vote something like Dumb and Dumber or Blades of Glory. Better to laugh together, than cry together... :)

You're bringing wine and/or flowers, right?

Rent 300. It's an awesome movie for both men and women. Ask your g/f if she likes abs. ;)

Too freaking funny. I TOO was going to recommend The Notebook. I love that movie.

sigh.

dude if she wants to watch the notebook with you, she reallllly likes you!

whhattt???

Is this your first dinner/movie date? How would you feel about a war drama? There's Swings Kids, Saving Private Ryan(a personal favorite of mine), and Enemy At the Gates.

It's a win win situation: there's fighting, blood and gore for you to enjoy, and lots of sappy moments for her to cry to.

I would recommend Wild Orchid with Mickey Rourke and Carre Otis.

She will enjoy it as it's love story involving a bad boy (Mickey Rourke).

You will enjoy it as it's a bit dark and features a very hot female actress (Carre Otis). If you rent the unrated version, there's a very hot sex scene near the end that will warm things up with your girl.

Wild Orchid. Rent it now.

Sure.

Also it would be our 2nd dinner/movie duo. Idk if that matters.

We've had feeling for eachother for a while but hadnt really gone anywhere with them as we worked together and its generally frowned upon, but we dont really care anymore :D

She had also asked if I had seen it before, idk if shes dropping a hint or what. I figured maybe.

And we are on an i love you basis.

There's one guy I will always remember because he took me to see Cronenberg's Crash on our first date (the one where people crash cars on the high way and then have sex even though they're injured).

BF brought over Olboy for our first movie date: A Korean movie about a man who is set free after a fifteen year long incarceration, is angry, and sets out on a mission to find out who had him incarcerated and why. Great movie, but very violent and very gory.

You'd probably be safer with a movie like Amelie or Little Children. Or No Country for old Men. Or better yet, O brother Where Art thou. Little Miss Sunshine is a brilliant comedy.

But if you are into a perticular movie genre and the Notebook is out, don't hesitate to introduce her to it. Get the Notebook next time.

Okay, if we want to keep it a little more casual, what about Mr.Deeds?

Here's another film I'm surprised no one suggested: Brokeback Mountain.

She'll enjoy it because it's a love movie.

You'll have the opportunity to show her how confident you are in your sexual preferences.

Take her by surprise and explain to her how Heath Ledger was not truly gay in real life.

Ehh no thanks on the broke back mountain.

Besides she already knows where I stand on that subject anyway.

She sent me this today when we were trading songs on AIM.

I asked if she liked the film and she said yes, but she always crys. But then she said she likes a good cry.

Im totally clueless, otherwise I wouldnt be on here :p But my intentions are there!
