Mike16 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Hi, Im new here, and am currently getting ready to ask a girl out. I need to know if its okay to buy stuff for a girl you like. Not all the time, just here and there. Thanks for any advice!
Quiksilver ca Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Getting ready to ask her out? And you're going to BUY HER STUFF already???? No my friend... In that situation it is not okay. I will concede that buy stuff for girls in general is okay, and is part of a healthy relationship... But a girl you hardly know? I will refrain from giving you a fish, instead I will teach you HOW to fish. Use gifts and bought items as rewards for good behavior. Doing this ensures that your gifts have value and are not meaningless and expected, if you will. Reward good behavior with treats, attention, and love. Punish bad behavior with no contact.
NTT148 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 yeah dude.... don't even start by buying her stuff cause then from there u'll just have to keep going "up" as the relationship progresses....
Author Mike16 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Ok, thanks for the help! Im terrible at knowing what to do when trying to start a relationship. lol
Author Mike16 Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 Sorry, I have to ask one more thing. What if I just get her something once, will that also screw things up?
Quiksilver ca Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Until you're a certified mack, stick to the rules. And don't be sorry for asking a question. You're a man, you do what you want.

NOw this guy GETS it. Gifts are for rewarding her affection and loyalty, NOT to entice her in the first place.
