serendip Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 ignoring the person or just telling the person you don't love them and you don't want them in your life anymore
LOVE DAISIES Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I agree with Lucid....telling them you don't love them anymore gives them closure. Ignoring.......well leaves EVERYTHING to the imagination, and no closure. Is this something you are going to do..or has been done to you?
sedgwick Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 I'm being ignored right now by the guy I thought I was going to marry. I think it's the worst thing I've ever felt.
datingmum Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 is certainly the most painful of the two. NO closure, no figuring it out, no transition to friendship.... just there one minute... all the love, the affection, the dreams, then *poof*. It also works well for the dumpee in that you don't have to close any doors, you just freak them out. If there is any chance they will return, it will happen that way. Unfortunate but true. Also, if you tell them "you don't love them anymore" too many times, they just don't believe you anyways. When I have been the dumper, I have tried to stay well away from the dumpee after uttering the horrid words above.

Ignoring.......well leaves EVERYTHING to the imagination, and no closure. Is this something you are going to do..or has been done to you? Well last night I was out with buddies...and bumped into a friend(nice person) of the ex....basically she told me the ex has a boyfriend(I didn't ask or anything like that) which I kind of assumed already. It didn't really bother me that much. But the ex is in my town(she lives thousands of miles away)...and lately she has been texting me(about every 2 or 3 weeks) and sometimes I respond and sometimes I don't. Obviously she's been playing games with me...and against the good advice from the LS-ers , I've been falling for it. So I was thinking the next time she texts...I should just tell her to basically leave me alone, I don't love her anymore and I don't want her in my life or something to that extent(I've never told her this or come close to telling her this). But it sounds like ignoring is the way to go.
datingmum Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 oh. in that case I'd tell her to stop texting you or you'll contact the police! no, not bitter. just ignore. or get a new phone!
xpaperxcutx Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 Why should you care how she feels? Does it matter at this point? Just focus on yourself and how to be more happy rather on how to make her feel even worse.

That's why I was wondering whether I should tell her to just leave me alone(which I have never said to her)...b/c her texting once in a while does still get under my skin a bit.

I'd give her one shot of, "leave my ass and everything attached to it alone", then I'd ignore/block her.

Then I suggest ignoring her completely. Can you block her number? If anything if she ever sends you a message, just delete it without reading it. What she has to say at this point is irrelevant.

dfreeman Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 No, why should he even give her a response to begin with? He has better things to do then waste a minute of his time replying. Here, I'll try it out on you... Leave me alone jerk!

No I don't pay for my phone...and I can't change my number since I've had the same cell number for 15 years(a lot of friends who call once in a while know this number).
dfreeman Posted March 26, 2008 Posted March 26, 2008 ...not to mention all of the bathroom stalls that would have to be changed! All kidding aside, don't change your number over this - it grants her even more power knowing you had to go through all that. Most phones have a special ringtone ... download a real doozy and attach it to her #. I've got Sam Kinnison attached to my ex's # - it's great when she calls me in public!
